bottle to sippy cup ?

hey ladies! my son is 3 days shy of 6 months, he has been eating cereal since he was right at 4 months, started stage one foods at about 4.5 months and just started stage two foods about 2 weeks ago. he is sitting by himself and has been for about 3 weeks. with mealtime he has been getting juice with water in a sippy cup...for the past week or so i have been giving him his formula in a sippy one feeding a day. well today i was with him all day and every feeding he took the sippy cup just fine...even his night night feeding. everything i have read says if they are ready then the sooner the better for weaning. please give me your expereinces and opinions BUT PLEASE DO NOT CRITICIZE ME i am simply asking because i do not know.

I gave my LO the sippy once at 6 months and she took to it instantly. So she has been drinking from her sippy exclusively since then. She is now 9 months and drinks from a hard spout sippy or a straw sippy.

If hes willing to take the sippy why not go to the sippy....My son started a sippy at about 9 months and he did really well with it. I dont think its going to hurt him to be on a sippy strictly. . as long as he eating enough why not

Definitely! I believe that kids do things when they are good and ready. This is just one less thing you will have to worry about breaking him from.

yeah i think today he drank about 22-25oz of formula...which is about normal for him...

exactly and thank goodness for that! i am lucky tho he doesnt take a paci either...lol hed rather chew on it and play with it

My LO gave up the paci on her own, one day she pushed it under the sofa and never went back for it....lol

I started introducing the sippy cup at 4 months old. I just thought she would play with it and it would be a couple months until she took to it. But she took to it right off the bat. Needless to say she has been on the sippy cup for the past 2 months and is a pro now lol. (she is 6 months old).

when u started the sippy did u put formula in it or wat did u put in it? im not sure wat im supposed to do when i start he sippy,

I started out w/ an ounce of water just to see if she would take it. Then I started putting her formula into it. You can put whatever you want in there.
