Quoting tantric☮lemons:“ make him speak up for you”

I told him that he would have to before I had Demetri, but he was so tired that he essentially forgot. When they finally broke down and said it was time for a c section, I hadn't slept in 24 hours, and neither had Daniel. I realize now that it probably was necessary, but I was too drugged up and out of it to understand.

We're thinking of getting married before that and making sure he's got POA. It's not really valid until I'm unable to legally speak for myself, but someone could easily argue in court that my signature on the c section permission form last time wasn't legal because of my mental state at the time. No joke.

What?! That's way above the normal range of what they charge on average.
Call and e-mail doulas, ask for their prices. Also ask them for references to other doulas that may be cheaper. There are also doulas in training that are waiting to be certified and need to attend three births, they have to do it for free. I urge you to look deeper into the doulas in your area, there must be some kind of a misunderstanding on what they charge.

Doulas are a HUGE asset to any mother, even more so to a mother attempting to vbac.

I don't think this would be an issue...I'm not sure. I did a quick google of the issue and the only thing I could find was that your tailbone may re-break, but not that it would cause problems in labor.
If you know your doc is already anti-vbac, I could see him looking for any reason to deny you a VBAC. Is there any way you can find a more VBAC friendly provider?

I know that feeling. But yes, you can refuse a scheduled c-section. They cannot force you to have the surgery. I would definitely tell your doc you will not be doing that. Also, you should check out http://ican-online.org They have tons of info on VBACs and if you sign up for their forums you can read a lot of helpful, relevant information from ladies who have gone through it.

Ouch! I'm sorry.

I don't see how that would prevent you from having a VBAC though, you just might wantthat api more cause I'd think it would be painfull to have contractions AND a broken tail bone.
