Raspberry leaf tea is a uterine tonic, it can help your contractions be more effective during labor, and helps keep your uterus toned and healthy. It can also really reduce the afterpains you get when you nurse after the birth and helps your uterus shrink back down better.
You can start drinking it daily after your first trimester.

Evening primrose oil is the nutritional source of GLA, which is the building blocks for prostaglandins in your body.
You can start taking it orally by the capsule at 36 weeks, and vaginally at 37 weeks, you just put the capsules up and let them disslove. It works similarly to Semen, as it helps your cervix soften and ripen and open more easily during labor.

Afterpains tend to get worse the more kids you have. So it's a good idea.
My mom had four kids, she said the afterpains with the third were worse than the labor! LOL
But then with the fourth she drank the RLT everyday and she had no afterpains with him at all!

Yeah   Some people drink it straight through from TTC all through the pregnancy, but since it can cause an increase in uterine activity, some reccommend waiting until after the first trimester just in case.

I think that'd be best considering I've had a miscarriage in the past. I just want to do everything I can to make this baby come out the baby shoot

I was talking to this baby a little bit ago and I said "Mommy doesn't care if you have an innie or an outie private part, and mommy doesn't care what your hair looks like, but please be as awesome as your sister....you can poop less if you want to though....and come out the vag hole please"

LOL
thats hilarious.
I did a lot of talking to Isla too when she was in there, right at the very beginning before we ever heard her heartbeat or anything.
I was trying to get her not to die like the baby before her. I kept telling her how all her parts were growing perfectly just as they should be, and her little heart was beating properly and her little brain was growing well, and how every little organ was in place, and how beautiful she was and how perfect...
And it turns out I was right!

But I was still scared to death she was going to die on me. I had a really hard time telling her I loved her. It was a real breakthrough for me inthe morning beforelabor, I couldnt' figure out why I was having such a long stage of pre-labor and I couldn't get any sleep, and I was tired and just ready for her to come out.... but nothing was really happening.
I knelt down by the bed trying to restand was talking to her.
Mommy wants you to come out so I can hold you, etc.... and then I realized I needed to tell her I loved her. I never had, the whole pregnancy, it was like I was afraid to admit I was attached... just in case something happened.
And I knelt by my bed and just cried I love you I love you I love you.... and sure enough in a few hours I was in labor!
Somehow, I think it was important that I say that out loud.

I did the evening primrose oil with both, it really helped. My cervix ripened really quickly after I started taking it, and with both my labors my cervix opened really quickly after a certain point. I think the EPO had a lot to do with it!
I drank the raspberry leaf tea some, but not as often as I intended to... it was one of the only things my whole pregnancy that made me nauseous.
But I did have pretty bad afterpains after Isla's birth, so I intend to try my hardest with the next pregnancy, to drink it daily.

I've been taking it since 36 weeks. From 37 week appointment to my 38 week I stayed 30% effaced. I'm going to continue to take it with the hope is helps while in labor.

yeah I got pregnant with Charlotte 5 months after my miscarriage and I wouldn't let myself get excited until I was I think 14 or so weeks. Then I started to let myself get excited and once I felt her kick I knew she'd be fine. I guess I'm the same way with this baby....I"m excited, but I'm trying not to get attached just in case something happens.
