Oh I forgot to update everyone! The peditrician was like why the heck would Miracle's pulmonologist tell you to put veggie oil in Miracle's bottle, that's gross and not necessary. She said Miracle weight is very good for a preemie baby. She said Miracle will catch up weight wise by the time she is one years old. She talked to Miracle's pulmonologist and told her from now on to consult with her before writing orders for Miracle.

Did you ask your pedi about being able to cut back on the cereal in the bottle?

She said that since Miracle is almost 6 months, I can either continue putting it in her bottle, or I can feed her cereal with a spoon. I took the cereal out her bottle the other day, and she didn't want it without the cereal, lol! I guess she is so used to it now! My DH feeds her cereal with a spoon 3 times a week. We are going to start buying baby food for her next week!

Cool! It took Tori a bit to get used to it as well. I did notice that when we started feeding it by spoon she didn't miss it in the bottle. Start small with the baby food if the dr didn't tell you. Get her used to the cereal first. Then a few bites of (I started veggies first to get them used to a less sweet taste) one kind of veggie for a week. We did green beans for a week(then on to another veggie the following week). It is better to introduce slowly so that you can watch for food allergies.

Be sure to have your camera out for the first feedings! It is so fun!

I didn't read it all, but if she is tiny, my daughter is a year, and maybe 18-20lbs. She has a calorie supplement called duocal! I would say do that NOT VEGETABLE OIL! That is a crazy DR!

my son had the same problem so they put him on simply thick its a gel base thickener and it works great for him cause it dont make their bellys full like the cereal but it helps w the reflux so maybe ur doctor could put her on that to

She's little but i dont think she is tiny. My lo is 7 monhts na d14 pounds 11 ounces born at 31 weeks. And she has reflux and is on previcid but also gets cereal in ehr bottle. I have never ehard of veg oil in a bottle it sounds gross. Has she been eating less?
