Tomorrow is the day. He has all his bags packed. We got him a new camera, some dvd's to watch. He asked for stuffed shells for dinner, and 4 layer dessert. I got him some Reese's muffins for tomorrow morning. This sucks. But...nothing I can do, and he will be back before I know it.

Post it on Wednesday in the Camp Lejeuene Wives page on Facebook and I guarantee you'll get some interest in it. Also try Craigslist or militarybyowner.com (which is how we found our awesome place in Quantico).

Other than that I don't know many people here yet. I'm actually just waiting for September to roll around for one of my close friends to come here from Oklahoma (I guess Marines do some artillery work out there at some Army base, IDK... Then they're moving to CL). I can't wait until she gets here. I've met about 15 women so far (all for play dates for my son) and none of them seemed interesting... I just... I don't know. Settling in here has been difficult but hopefully things will change when we move on base and I start working again.

Well this weekend was not the greatest :/ how do you ladies deal with deployments!? i mean my DH isnt deployed but hes in tech school so i get to talk to him all the time on the weekends but its just so hard not being with him when ive been used to being with him almost 24/7 when he was home :/

Get a job, get hobbies, exercise, basically just keep yourself busy. The busier you are the less time you have to focus on him not being around. You'll adjust with time and become more independent.

Exactly!

I'm used to him being gone more than not, so I typically have to re-adjust to him being around and having to do things with him.
