I'm active duty and a fan of osmw. I personally don't see the huge deal.
I laughed at some of the tip of the spears memes today, but I guess i missed something :/ If somebody wants to be retarded and risk their career, oh well, its nobodies business but theirs and their commands.

I wonder exactly what the statistics are, but apparently, at least in the Army, there are verrrrryyyyyyyyyy few CSMs who have never rec'd an Article 15. Just about every young service member goes through the same stupidity before they grow up a little; it's pretty well built into the culture of the military. And...who exactly is it that you think they are recruiting? Young, educated, worldly, private school IB diploma holders?   IMO this is just to be expected. I understand wanting to hold service members to a higher standard and before I enlisted in the Army I very much thought that's how it would be, but...now I'm a realist.

You have a point. I just think taking it as far as naming people, posting private photos, and telling people to kill themselves is a bit much. I'm all for a good ribbing (which is why I liked OSMW) but JTTOTS took it a bit far. I knew better than to act like a complete twat at age 18, why shouldn't they be expected to uphold common sense values like, you know, not making death threats?

I guess no matter how anyone feels it's important to know people are actually getting in trouble for this stuff and some are even getting kicked out and/or sued. No bueno.

They're everywhere. I can think of no less than 10 off the top of my head that are dedicated solely to breaking people down in a mean-spirited way. It's unfortunate. Like I said before, I'm all for freedom of speech and enjoy a good laugh but when people start using other people's actual names, photos, etc. without at least blurring things out then that's kind of messed up. What I really don't get is people saying they're going to kill someone and even worse is when the person making the "threats" is active duty and posting under their first and last name. It's just like... are you really that smurfing stupid? It's pretty understood that commands everywhere are cracking down on idiocy via social networks so for a person to go and post stuff like this is just ridiculous.

Hubs had Camp Darby and Aviano at the top of his list, were pretty excited.. I'm just wishing I could figure out something to learn more about the base.

Yeah I'm sure I'll take lots of pictures while we live out there, we for sure plan to travel around. I heard it's pretty easy to travel places while your over there.

ADVON just got home and the pictures are posted all over FB. DH decided in November to let his soldier under him go home on ADVON instead of him and I completely supported that decision.

But I'm not gonna lie, I'm totally jealous right now seeing this pictures.
