Aww <3 I can't even imagine how he must feel having to go through this--it's been so long, having those lumps and now this. I hope, hope, HOPE this does the trick and he can have the rest of his head done.

Oh that is nothing compared to what I was anticipating, lol. It does look good! It looks clean and healthy.

So I thought that what they were going to do was essentially just scrape under the skin, but they did a graft? Did they remove the skin from that area entirely, or how deep down did they go?

When it heals, will his hair grow again there? (That would be phenomenal, then you won't be able to see it at all.)

they went as deep as they could. there is a pretty good size indention. they took a thin layer from the font of his head where he has hair, and used that for the graft. so part of it will have hair, but for the most part (lower half) he wont have hair.

he's not sure. it's kind of a vanity point for him, because before this he had a head full of thick black hair. and he still does when it isn't shaved (with some salt thrown in his pepper). he'll probably just keep getting the high and tights and just go with it...

If any of your husbands post on Just the Tip of the Spear on Facebook tell them to delete their posts immediately or face getting NJPed. This web site is currently creating a huge stir. COs are speaking to their Marines about not posting on it and my husband said they've had several meetings about it already. They are wanting to sue the owner of the page for using the EGA and altering it (it is a trademarked image that cannot be altered and used for other purposes, especially when it's being used by someone for such a terrible thing). Facebook is currently refusing to take it down so they are considering an actual lawsuit for copyright infringement (among other violations).

How do you guys feel about pages like this? I used to be a huge fan of OSMW but it eventually got downright cruel and when people started using actual names and such I unsubscribed entirely. I feel like active duty service members should NOT be participating in pages like this whatsoever. Part of their job is to represent their branch properly and that includes not making fools of themselves in public venues. It's akin to someone wearing their uniform in public while acting like an idiot. It does not speak well of the military.

I am a huge fan of free speech but I think if you're looking at a career in the military you might want to consider the fact that saying certain things can impact your career negatively. No one ever said a service member can't say whatever he or she wants, they're just saying you can't expect to not be punished for saying something extremely offensive.

I dislike those pages. There is actually a page dedicated to adulterers on Camp Pendleton and I just...speechless.

Yeah, I'm amazed by it. My husband and I spent a good hour last night going through Just the Tip of the Spear and we started looking at the pages of people who posted comments and photos. I would say 65% of them are active duty military which blows my mind. Common sense dictates that if you're in the U.S. military you probably shouldn't be posting nude photos of service members or their spouses or calling people out by name and saying gross things. Maybe it's just me though because it seems like thousands of people think it's just fine to be smurfs on the internet. It's one thing to be a dick and troll people a little but it's an entirely different thing to call people out by their first and last name and provide a list of things they've done wrong, bully them, or post nude photos of them. Like I said, I'm all for free speech but if you're in the military you've got to realize you can't just say whatever you want wherever you want and not expect some flack.
