We are here for another 3 years and yes I live on base, we live on TT. Yeah now its like 700-800 a check for them and that is not nearly enough raise such a large family. I totally didn't know about the schools on base I was just going to endure the crazy traffic to get to the CC. Right now I'm just doing gen ed classes toward some type. Of degree I have no idea what yet and dh is still debating school but I told him if he wants to be a warrant officer he is gonna need it.

Haha, what's there to debate? School is never a bad option! Have you seen the CC here yet? It's SO TINY! I've never seen a high school that small, let alone a community college. I wonder where I'll end up taking all of my courses. Guess I'll find out either tomorrow or the day after.

Parking is a nightmare over there even at night! I went during the day one time good god, so crowded and disorganized. He hates school is all, he is super smart but just hates learning new things such a weirdo. I've been telling him that not to mention he can pick up faster and get more and better leadership duties.

Wow, I had no idea Camp Lejeuene was so big until last night. Quantico wasn't nearly that big.

Anyway, I think we're going to live on base. We've looked around, met with agents, etc. and can't find anything that isn't either in need of repair/renovation or complete bullsmurf. We also did some research and asked around concerning what it's like to try and sell a house here. Apparently most people agree: Just don't buy to begin with.

As for renting, we haven't found any places in the only area we like, North Topsail Beach. They are all vacation rentals and nothing more. The place we have right now (on the beach) is only until April 1st. We just wanted to have enough time to look around when we got here instead of feeling rushed to move into a place. I'm going to miss this condo... It's amazingly nice and beats the hell out of base housing from what I've seen, lol. (That's not to say base housing is terrible.)

When it comes to an overseas or Hawaii billet are you automatically excluded if you have a family member enrolled in EFMP or does it depend on the category they fall under? My son has classic autism, he is category 4 or 5 the lowest one - meaning the least amount of care or whatever...will this stop my husband from going overseas or back to HI? Or will we need to speak to the monitor?

Doesn't automatically exclude you, but it can limit possibilities. They have to be sure they have the proper services to support the EFMP family member. I don't think you will have a problem with your category. I know families that have PCSed here with autistic children, but this is a very large military community so lots of services.

The safe part of me says Hawaii since we've been there before, but never with kids. But it would be a different base. The adventurist in me says London.

His job in special operations allows him to work with military from different countries.

My husband is going to be doing the PA stuff for Facebook/Twitter and apparently the CG is considering a Twitter account... They want to be able to reach more people and bridge the gap between officer and enlisted people. I think it sounds like a great idea. Social media is a great way for everyone to know what's going on. Quantico, for example, has a great page up and running.

I didnt either until I started doing some research a couple years ago when Kieran was diagnosed. They have more studies published and everything.

Its less than a week from payday and everyone is apparently broke -_- budgeting people!
