So, I need to meet some MILSOS out here in SAN DIEGO SOON!
My husbands deployment date got set sooner & extended to 10 months!!
he leaves in less then a couple weeks.. I really dont want to be stuck in our house with DD 24/7 without friends :/
We just moved into this place so i dont know any of my neighbors..
We are headed to texas for 10 days tomorrow night to visit family and what not. Then he leaves right after we get back. Any mommas have toddlers & out here in san diego?

my brother and SIL are moving there in a couple months when he gets back from his current deployment. ( i know that doesnt help you now.. sorry)

need to vent...
hubby's surgery was scheduled for Jan 3. it is a 3 hr drive to the hospital. we were going to go up on the 2nd for his pre-op, and stay through the 4th for his post op.. that worked for us because the kids were still going to be on break from school. now the doctor has called and said he has rescheduled it for Jan 8.. our kids will be in school then. either I won't be able to go with hubby (not sure how he's going to get there and back) or my kids are going to have to miss school.. I really don't want them to miss any school for this.. thanks doc!

Lemon grove

Just finished PCSing to the Lejeune area. We now live in North Topsail Beach, NC and it's gorgeous. Unfortunately it's in the middle of freaking nowhere. As far as I can tell the nearest fast food places are a good 30 minutes away from where we are (which is like a death sentence for me). Not only that but anything basic is just as far away. I know I'll get sick of having to drive 30+ minutes just to get small things like the bed linens and towels we need right now. I'm used to being able to drive no more than five and having everything at my fingertips after living in Charleston and Quantico. Hell, every place I've ever lived--even in rural Mississippi and Vermont--wasn't more than a few minutes from grocery stores, restaurants, etc.

First world problems, I know. I'll get over it, mainly because this is the view from our living room balcony (which goes over to the master and one of the guest bedrooms)  




My little boy loves it here so far! And I LOVE how loud the ocean is all the time. I'm listening to it as I type this and it's so relaxing. The beach is nice too. It's actually pretty big during low tide and there aren't many obnoxious condos all over the place. It's really pretty.

I'm done gloating, I swear.

Oh yeah, I love how this place isn't jacked up with tons of Marines and their families. Don't get me wrong, I love the USMC, but living in a place like Stafford/Quantico was just freaking obnoxious sometimes. Every single car had a DoD sticker on it. Every. Single. Car.

Wow, that is absolutely gorgeous! Sorry about the drive, that will definitely be an adjustment--but in the end, well worth it.

I LOVE it...but, all I can think about is hurricane.

I was curious how anyone younger kids did during deployments, our girls will be 1 on the 15th and hubs leaves for Korea for a year around April sometime. They are complete daddies girls and usually get pissy with me just when he's late home from work or ends up on some weird work schedule he usually doesn't have.. makes me worried how they'll end up doing when he's gone.
