My question is entirely invalid now. My husband reenlisted last week, while I was on a cruise and unable to be reached. So, we'll see where this takes us..

I'm the one with PTSD in the marriage not combat or service related. My husband had mild anxiety and depression when we first married it's taken care of now but he refuses to say it was PTSD.

So its time for me and my husband to make a decision about where we should go next. Right now he is in a unit that doesn't get deployed but he can't stay there. There is 2 other units at the same base here that he can go to which are both getting deployed a lot. The hours are pretty rough too butnhebwould be going back ton his original job. He was supposed to pick up already but the unit he is in keeps closing it down. He was thinking of doing recruiting so he could pick up plus he wouldn't get deployed. He could also try to get a different base all together. Its a tough decision. But in heard so many bad things about recruiting! We are either thinking of him switching to one of the units here or going to a new base all together. I do like it here but not sure about the bother places. We would like to stay on the east coast. I know we arent gaurenteed anything. What do u think??

My husband has never been a recruiter he decided to do something else for his b billet but my friend's husband has been a recruiter for the past 3 years and they HATED it. He was never home the demands for their area were insane. They both told my husband and I that they would rather do back to back deployments like at his old unit than ever do recruiting.

That's why I think we are going to go with a different unit. I'd rather him be gone for about 6 months than 3 years "/ just not sure if we should stay here or try for somewhere else.I told him to wait to do his b billet for another time.

yeah we went through that too how old is your daughter. my oldest daughter was 2 when her daddy deployed last, and she was 3 when he came home. it took a few days for her to wrap her head around the idea that he was home now, and not just a face on a computer screen. she's still a daddy's girl, but since she's growing so is her attitude and things are changing. while he was gone we looked at pictures of them constantly and she got to talk to him on the phone. hope you can find a way for them to stay connected.
