me and my dh will be married 5 yrs in january. When we got married. We werent together when i got pregnant. I got pregnant like 4 months before he deployed. we got married 1 month after finding out i was pregnant. Alot of the people i know who were in with us are still married. But i can see why the divorce rate is high.

we got married when we were 20 and 21.

So we found out his MOS is Public Affairs and he'll be going back to 8th & I. Not bad, not bad at all. It's funny because when he was enlisted he was sent straight to D.C. because they liked his face and voice and he ended up doing that for three years before finishing college and all that other stuff. He's essentially going back to his roots. His deployments will be pretty safe and we'll get to live in a nice area.

I'm excited.

Anyway, a small update on our family. We made it to Lafayette last night. We're staying at my SILs on a futon. Apparently my MIL has a camper she's going to let us stay in but it's not ready yet. I just back read but now I'm about to start googling my ass off to try to find a job for myself and Brandon as well as welfare help so we can get back on our feet.

Earlier Maddy said she wanted to go home and it just smurfing broke my heart. How do you tell an almost 3yo she has no home?

How long did you wait for housing? DH still hasn't been up to the housing office yet, I feel like he is dragging his feet doing it because when he is up there alone he can party and hang out with his "friends" more than when we are there.

One week at our first base. Actually less than, but we got the keys about a week after we got there. This base...the wait times are a few months to a couple years. For us right now, it's about 8 mnths.

Here the waiting list is 6 months but I know people who have been on the list for 9 currently, and I know someone who got their house in 4 days. At Fort Hood we were told 3 to 6 months and 3 days later my husband saw our house signed for it and moved in. It really all depends. It can take days, weeks, months. It's varying. Best thing he can do is get down to the office because you may be one of the families who has to wait a few months... but you may be the lucky few who only waits a few days or weeks.

My husband waited a month. Housing is very limited here too.

So the TBS wives have a Facbeook group we use to communicate about anything military related, play dates, meeting up, etc. There's a post on there from a wife who figured out how to log into her husband's Marine Online account and found some codes that she was able to translate using a spreadsheet she got from a family member who's a former service member. These codes basically show the exact date their husbands are leaving VA and moving to another base to start their new MOS. The guys don't even know yet and they're out in the field right now until tomorrow.

Does this not sound kind of crappy to anyone else? My friend and I were talking about it and we both feel like the guys should know first if anything. I understand some wives use their husbands' accounts to check dates of when they'll be training for this or that and whatnot but logging into his account to find out where he's going when he's not even able to find out yet himself? That just sounds kinda smurffy. Obviously to each their own and bla bla bla and I can respect that but I wouldn't do it. I'm looking forward to when my husband finds out where we'll be and we'll get to celebrate it together, much like finding out the sex of our son together at the gender appointment.

They're also posting where they're going with exact dates which is kind of looked down on. A lot of them are new to the military because their husbands were not enlisted before becoming officers so I understand that could be a mistake on their part but it seems like common sense to me that you shouldn't post so much personal information when your husband doesn't even know himself. All of these women are posting these things and this group is for about 300+ people. I now know who's going where and none of these guys do. It just doesn't seem fair.

Its incredibly smurffy to do something like that, and then to post everythjng on top of that on facebook? Not to mention, just because shes married to the dude, its illegal to hack into his mol accoubt.

I would be LIVID if anybody ever did that to me

Okay good, so I'm not just overreacting. I really couldn't help but feel the whole thing was super smurffy as soon as I saw it. I can't believe they haven't even thought twice about doing it. They're all trying to help each other break these codes and stuff. One even volunteered to have other wives e-mail her their husband's information so she can do it for them =/
