Not doing everything to help my baby?
You know what.. you don't know SHIT about my situation.
I asked for what to expect for a preemie... not for you to judge me on something you know NOTHING about.
My own fucking doctor doesn't think I'll make it to 35 weeks. I've been on pelvic rest since 23.5 weeks and following all my doctors orders. I almost lost my daughter at 8 weeks, then had to have surgery at 21 weeks pregnant, then have been in the hospital 3 more times since then so they can stop labor.
Last time, they almost couldn't.
My cervix is funneling and there is NOTHING they can do to stop it.
I've been contracting since my 2nd trimester, and they've been getting worse and worse as it gets closer and she gets heavier on my cervix.
Do I WANT a preemie? NO. I want my daughter to have every chance she can to be healthy... but I'm being realistic enough to know that it's a good chance that she could, and most likely will,come early.
My doctor told me not to come in until they get to be 4-6 minutes apart and 40-60 seconds long because that's ACTUAL labor.. that's when they can stop it. Until then, it's just what I've been doing for weeks. I'm noticing a pattern in my contractions today and the pain is getting worse, but all they'd do is tell me to go home and rest and come back when it gets more consistent.

I KNOW. and go in anyways to see maybe they will help they dont want you to have a preemie either so im pretty sure he would be like im not g oing to try and stop it.

wow thats kinda harsh, I dont think shes actually trying to do any thing wromg!
Sarah, if your doctor really doesnt want you t o come in tell actual labor heres some things you can expect as a preemie mom. preemies develope diffrently, not exactly slower just diffrent she may need to spend some time in NICU depending on her health, the longer you keep her in there the less time she have in NICU. preemies often are at a higher risk of illness, and respiratory problems, but if shes healthy at birth just make sure you do every ting you can to help her grow. Are you planning to breast or bottle feed?

Protect your baby at all costs, including going to L&D regardless of what your doc said. Some of us have preemies and don't want to see others in the situation we are in, so we are going to state our feelings on how to prevent it!

THE HOSPITAL I GO TO "LET'S PEOPLE GO" AT 35 WEEKS.
Especially with complications like mine.
I've had labor stopped 3 times. I went in when I started having contractions that were like 10 minutes apart and they still waited until they were closer to 5 minutes apart before giving the first shot.
Whenever they move closer together, I'll go OF COURSE. But until then, I'd be doing nothing but wasting money because they wouldn't do shit.

They don't always stop it. I had contractions every day, no longer than 7 minutes apart from 34 weeks until I delivered at 36w 5d. I don't know why, but my doctor was never concerned and not once said anything about being scared I'd go into labor. I also lost my mucous plug and dropped at 33w.
