Quoting momma b's knocked up!!:“ kaballah is a form of judiasm and scientology is completely different they believe in aliens. (I studied religion in college)”

Scientology is a belief that people are immortal spiritual beings who have forgotten their true nature. They participate in many social services and have strict moral guidelines that they follow - as well as a great deal of rituals many others find off the wall or wacky.

In the end, it is actually a form of religious philosophy, not the belief in aliens. However, whether it should have the status of a religion is questionable, and an entirely different topic in and of itself.

Ok...so I don't think eating it would be any good. Gross! But there are proven benefits to ingesting it and using it for various purposes. In China, women sell their placentas to the pharmacy. Now, yes, granted that is fucking CHINA...but still, they have proven to be competent with medical science for the past few thousand years so there are reasons to do research into what the placenta would do. It has been proven that girls who use the hair products with placenta in them in the U.S. (animal placenta is all that's used, even though human placenta isn't illegal) begin their periods sooner than those who don't use them. Obviously the placenta is a powerful organ and certainly has some medicinal or therapeutic uses.

There is evidence that taking the placenta by mouth (pill form or eating it) can significantly reduce Alzheimer's signs.

Rubbing placenta on the breast and nipple can evidently help with milk flow.

Adding placenta to some kind of gentle salve (Aquaphor by Eucerin or something similar) ends diaper rash and many kinds of skin problems.

So I will be saving mine and using it if I need it. I don't think that's disgusting. However, I will not be making placenta omelettes or soups.

When i had my son in 2006.. they asked if we wanted to take the placenta with us and my husband asked them why and they said the same things.. some people eat it as a ritual and others bury it and plant a flower or tree on top and a symbol of new life. My husband told them" Hell no, you can keep that shit" ..lol

Thank you for all that info - and keep us updated about your uses for the "placenta". How very interesting.
