Any mom's pregnant with their 5th baby?

posted 22nd Nov '06
I am not leaving the hospital this time unless my tubes are tied. LOL. I am 8 1/2 weeks pregnant with my 5th baby. My other kids are ages 11, 9, 7, and 9 months. I am still nursing my 9 month old so we were not planning or prepared for the news of another baby, but we're getting used to the idea now and I am just choosing to stay faithful that I can handle this and that this baby will be such a blessing to our family.
I was wondering if there are any other mom's out there who have big families and what your thoughts and feelings were too. I'd love to hear how other mom's deal with it all.

Hey rtsm5

I'm not on my fifth baby but fifth pregnancy, I have two beautiful girls and my husband and I expecting a boy in January. Our girls are still very young, my oldest is going to be 2 in march and youngest is just 11 months well till Nov.29th they were born early so we are hoping to keep baby three in as long as we can.. Yes we were quick to "shoot the gun" LOL... We do plan on having more afterwards but not for a very long time, we will have three under two so our minds may just change. we'll see. Congratulations on your pregnancy I hope you the best!!!

Hi I am due in July with my 4th. this pregnancy was very unplanned and we even considered termination but when it came down to the line we just did not have the heart to do it. I guess we already knew in our hearts we were going to have this baby we just weren't ready to accept that. now that we have come to see this baby as a blessing instead of a financial burden we are actually excited! my husband talks to my tummy (even though it only looks like i really need to pee!!!) asking what it is and if its gonna play football and just really silly stuff. I hope ypur pregnancy goes well good luck..... (sorry for jabbering on LOL)

Thank ladies! KJPlus3, I wish you well with the rest of your pregnancy. Hopefully you will go to term and the baby will be born healthy. Having kids close together is so much work in the beginning but it really is nice later on. My firstt three kids are within 3 and half years from first to third. It was hectic but some how we manage don't we?
Beccarcb3 have you told your other kids that you are going to have another baby yet? How old are your other kids? I haven't told mine yet. I will probably do that in a couple more weeks. It's such a long time for them to wait so I thought I would try and get through most of the first trimester. Also, I'm not sure I am ready for everyone to know I am pregnant yet. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the number five and don't want to deal with some of my family and friends shocked faces quite yet.

Hi, I haven't told my other kids yet they are only 6, 2 and 1 year old. Ifigured we would wait till i really started to show. My 6 year old will understand a bit better than the other two i suppose, but they will get used to it I guess. I haven't told my mum and dad yet. I am getting my head around it too. lol good luck

Well im 27 and Im pregnate with my 4th child and due jan 28. My other three children will be 9, 7, and 5 when the baby is born. I waited until I was showing before I told them that I was pregnate and they were excited. I have to admit though I keep running the idea in my head of having 4 children and all i keep thinking is my god how am i gonna do this. my husband wants another one after this one because this is his first child but all i think is no way. well we will have to see how things go. good luck to you and congrats.

My nine month old is my husbands first child too. As soon as I got my first period after having him he was so excited and said "yeah, you're fertile again". He wants another baby so much, and that makes me happy, knowing how supported I will be through this all, but I am not naive to the whole process. It's a whole lot of work, and it takes a long time before you get a little mom time back. We're talking names tonight already though, so I must admit I am excited to share in this process again with him. He keeps joking that people will wonder if I am taking out daycare kids or something when I am out and about with all five of them. I'm only 33 and people already say wow, all four of them are yours? Too funny!

I'm also a 33 year old mother of four with baby number 5 on the way. This is my hubby's first and we've been trying for this one for over a year. We had a miscarriage last November but this one has gone very well. We're also planning for one more after this one and then (most likely) calling it quits on having any more. I have 3 boys (13, 7,5) and a girl (11) and we've been told after two ultrasounds they're as sure as they can be that we're having a girl this time around. Best of luck to all of you!

HI everybody! I am pregnant with my 4th, but it will be 5 including my step-daughter. This is a boy and he will be here Jan 3 via C-section. When he is born my daughters will be almost9, one 7, step-daughter 6, and my son will be almost 22mo. My husband may also have a son who is 4, but his ex wont give him a paternity test to prove it, so for now its only 5 between the two of us! Its nice to see other large families out there. My best friend is also a mother of 5, the 4th one she adopted not expecting a 5th, LOL.

Wow, it's so great to see so many mom's with big families. It really is encouraging. It's amazing where life takes you. I would never have imagined having five kids 11 years ago when I had my first daughter, but then again I wouldn't have believed I would go through a divorce and get re-married.
What do you say to people who give you comments of "I can't imagine having that many kids"? Maybe you don't get them, but I do all the time. I'm not sure if it is because I look so young or if it's the town I live in. The lady who did my blood work asked me if this was my first pregnancy and I said no "5th" and she said, wow, I cannot imagine. I just said, it's not for everybody, but some people are just meant to have big families and I am one those people. I think the reason I have waited to tell people this time around that I am pregnant is because I want to be prepared for all comments, just be able to proudly say I will have five kids.

Oh..... I know how you feel I am asked that oh so famous quetion everywhere I go...."Is this your first baby" i smile and say no this is my fourth.....same response as you get "I cant imagine having that many kids" honestly I couldnt imagine not having one of my kids. They are my world. I also know how you feeel about having the support from a loving husband, mine is great, I get to stay home because I have a hard time with my pregnancies and he is so loving and willing to do whatever it takes to make me comfortable and happy. I know if we had another baby after this one he will be so supportive and help me out. I just dont know if I can do it. Im usually so miserable during my pregnancies, the ache, pains, heartburn, sleeplessness and just being so uncomfortabl along with the numerous trips to the hospital because of a complication. well Im glad to hear that there are so many other mommies out there who are having four or more children and are experiencing the same things as me. actually you ladies made me feel better about being proud of the fact that I have four children.

I live in Australia and all these people look at me like i have an arm growing out of my butt when i tell them i have 3 with another on the way!!! I get those looks alot because I am only 24. People just don't understand that when we fall pregnant its not because we want the welfare or free stuff from charities.... its because when we fall pregnant the absolute feeling of pride in ourselves is so strong that we believe having this baby is only a chance to extend the love in our families, so for all those people with no kids who tell me that i shouldn't have so many kids at my age GET F*@#!d!!!!!! I hold my head high when i am with my kids because they are my greatest creation and no-one can ever replace me in their lives. I am their world and that is even better than winning some lotto to me...... How bout you guys??? Well enough blabbering from me for now till next time! BYE!

I personally can't imagine having 5 kids myself, but think its great if you want 5 kids and can handle it   I give you a HUGE HUG and lots of APPLAUSE

I'm expecting my first and I"m 29yrs old. I want at least one more child but can't imagine 5   I love kids and if I could afford it and started younger than maybe 1-2 more wouldn't be so bad

So excited for the ones that do have 5 and happy with it
