I have two boys, Mikey is almost 4 and Andy is 7 months. This is great advice (though my husband didn't like my son playing with a doll I pointed out that he will be a father some day) so I gave my son a doll when Andy was younger so during Andy's bathtime so that he had his own baby to wash and pretty much left me alone. Now Andy is old enough to take baths with his brother, and they both love it   While I was feeding Andy I would try to read to Mikey (this doesn't work as well any more b/c Andy is a nosey baby now that he is older), and I always put Andy to bed at least one hour prior to Mikey so that I make sure that Mikey gets some individual attention from me.

Its not always easy lol

It helps that my oldest is in year round school so in the mornings its just me and the girls... the baby is easy. Its my almost three year old that is the hardest. Shes in them terrible twos lol

And i dont have "me time"   My kids cant go to grandmas on the weekends, or anything because none of their grandparents are in a suitable situation to care for kids by themselves... so its just me.

But they are worth it. BG is my escape.

Your first baby is a month younger than my eldest, so they are at the same stage and I cannot imagine having to contend with a one year old as well as her! She is at the demanding need to know, need to be doing things all the time, need to have attention all the time stage and Kai is at the need to have something 24 hour a day age. But his not walking, crawling or anything like a one year old would be, you must have your hands full and then trying for number three, man your brave! We have decided we don't want anymore, mainly because my pregnancy with my second was bad and the labour was too painful for me to even imagine wanting to do it againg, I am keen on adopting when the children are grown up a bit though, although hubby still needs to be convinced a bit more on that idea!
I agree with the elder children needing independance and doing everyday things like we do. Jasmin is very mumsie and tries to take over with Kai lol

Aww that's great, Jasmin can be a bit too over bearing with Kai at times, I swear she thinks I can't look after him because she tries to get to him before me when he cries and gives him his dummy or wipes his face with a bib and tells me his crying Mummy, I think his hungry lol!

Goodness me you are brave! I have heard so many people say it just falls into place, it hasn't happened for me yet, it's still caotic lol! Tips on routine would be much appreicated as we just don't have one right now!

That is my exact problem, everytime I sit down to feed Kai, Jasmin always wants something and if Kai has something, she wants it, like a bath. So it's hard work keeping up with both of their needs and I long for the day we have routine and Kai sleeps through the night. I try really hard to make sure Jasmin still has my attention as much as possible and I sit her down and tell her we haven't forgotten her and we still love her just as much as we always did whenever I feel she is feeling insecure and she has these outbursts occasionally when she has done something not safe like putting a bib over her brother's face because his been sick and smothering with it because she sees me doing something similar and doesn't understand he can't breathe the way she does it and I tell her she mustn't do that, she bursts into tears and it breaks my heart to think she might be feeling left out.

That's good to hear and lol! I tell myself that, I said I didn't want anymore after Jasmin but I knew I would, this time I am pretty sure this is it. It has to be anyway, hubby has said he definitely does not want anymore.

My daughter is in pre-school two mornings a week and that helps but Kai is not an easy baby, his so fussy and hard to please. I am hoping he will get better, he had tongue tie and just had that cut today so I am hoping he will start taking a dummy and feeding better.
My almost three year old is hard work at times, but she is a pretty good girl, she knows right from wrong although she still tries to push her luck and I found she tries to baby herself a lot lately. I've caught her with Kai's dummy in her mouth and she picks his bottles up all the time although she has never tried to drink from them etc.

BG is my escape too lol x

I worry about William feeling left out too....
When Ziva is sleeping, I try to spend time with William either reading a book, or playing chase, or just cuddling... When Will gets home, he takes Ziva for a few minutes so I can feed William, and spend a few minutes with just me and him, or bathe him before bed..... And I try not to keep either one waiting too long if they need something, but at times, it is simply unavvoidable. One or the other must fuss/cry for a few minutes.
