Babies born at 37-38 weeks

posted 2nd Jun '09
My doctor doesn't seem to think I'll make it to my due date. But then again, he could be completely wrong and I could go OVER my due date.. which is what I think is going to happen.   butI was just curious, what's to be expected with a baby born at 37-38 weeks? Anytime in the NICU or anything like that?

My daughter was born at 37 weeks exactly. She is a perfectly happy 15 month old now. She fortunatly did not have to spend any time in the NICU, we just had to have her in the pedi about once a week for weight checks for a few months, we had to make sure she was gaining right.

I think a baby is considered full term at 37 weeks so I think your baby should be fine

it really depends on the particular baby. But most likely everything will be perfect, especially the longer you can hold off   Kailee was born at 39 weeks and was perfect

37 weeks is considered full term. SO basically next to no complications should be expected at all. Im going to be induced at 37 wks. My doc said if he is born before 35wks (im 33) that I would have to have him at a hospital 2 hours away where there is an NICU.

I had my son RIGHT when I turned 37 completed weeks, like, the day of.
He was a bit on the small side (5lbs 15oz) but I think he was going to be small either way. Other than that, he was perfect

At 37 weeks you're considered full term   USUALLY the baby is just fine.. I say usually because there's always that small percentage.

Soooo no worries Katie, im sure she'll be healthy if you have her tomorrow or sometime in July   haha.
