I've got a late night tonight....I'm making my daughters 2nd bday cake and a bunch of cupcakes. Thank God it's supposed to be nice on Sunday so we can barbeque outside and my husband can do everything else.

Does anyone have a good potato salad recipe? I loooove my Mom's (German potato salad) but she said she won't give me any of my favorites because that's how she keeps us around lol.

I love potato salad...

I can give you two recipes...
Mine and my grandma..
But I do not do correct measurements, I just wing it.

Yukon Gold potatoes (or red potatoes)...
Chunk it up into squares, boil....
Hardboil the eggs...cool...peel....chop...
Do a few big spoonfuls of the mayo and a few good squirts of mustard, add the celery, and voila!
NUMMY.

My grandma's....
She adds super crispy cooked bacon to hers...
Holy cow is it DELICIOUS!

That is what im coming up with as of right now, I dont go for my GD testing for another 2 weeks...but hopefully the ultrasound can give me some insight on whats happening. Thank you very much Ashley I really appreciate it!

Well, I just spent a lovely (NOT!) 3 hours in maternity triage. Gabriel hasn't moved hardly at all today, so I got worried, especially since I have overdone it the last 2 days and was really sore. Called my doc, he told me to go in for a non-stress test, and I did. Got there, put on my lovely backless gown and got hooked up to the monitors. Of course, he started kicking at the monitor and moving just fine, so I felt stupid. Figured I'd get to go home soon after, until they checked my BP and it was 155/100. Great. So they monitored him, and me for a couple of hours and my BP sorta stayed around 145/90 for a while. They took blood (of course!) and everything came back normal. I think my BP was up because they put me in the EXACT same room I was in when my son was in the hospital. I was having flashbacks. But I got discharged with my instructions, but no restrictions. So my night sucked. On the upside, I'm now pre-registered, so that's good. I even got my paperwork for Gabriel's birth certificate. Hubby took me out for pizza cause he felt bad. So, now I'm full and sleepy. Guess I will talk to you all later!

I'm not saying it is cool that you have this heart condition...but I have enjoyed reading and learning about it. Thanks for sharing.

So I had an OB appointment today. Everything is looking good

I have gained a whopping 9.5lbs during this entire pregnancy so far lol The nurse said that was really good. I keep thinking I should be gaining more though =/ oh well, im sure once I hit my third trimester, i'll start packing on the pounds lol

speaking of the third trimester, my doctor and nurse have told me that the 7th month is supposed to start on the 28th week, not 27th. Goes to show that everyone has their idea of where its supposed to start lol My what to expect book also says 28wks. Its on babygaga that the weeks dont match the book anymore

Also, i got another ultrasound today. I asked the doctor if he had a doppler and he said he did but he would much rather SEE the heart and the baby then listen to the heartbeat.. and while looking at the baby, he got the hiccups and said "see. if we were just using a doppler, we wouldnt be able to tell those were hiccups and thing he has heart murmur or something. thats why i like ultrasounds"
fine by me lol that means i get to see the little guy every visit.

Noproblem. They'll give you your glucose test early if they can to rule it out. Hopefully that's what it is.

I'm hungry but have no money and not much to really cook   Sigh. Dilemma!

A friend of mine on here is in labor and it's been 36 hours with pretty painful contractions at 4 - 6 minutes apart, lasting almost 2 minutes long   And the docs are all being rude to her over the phone saying "Oh, you don't SOUND like you're in pain" and shit....
Mind you, this woman was a gymnast for 12 years and had to mask pain in order to get through routines...
Men just expect us to be crying and screaming like in the movies

Awesome...
I still have this horrible cough and stuffy/runny nose....that just WON'T go away..
Even if I feel like I don't have to pee, Rei will push her little self right on my bladder during a cough, and I'll pee myself a little. THANKFULLY it's not even enough to get on my undies (it's bad enough my discharge makes me change them often..I need to invest in some panty liners)....but it's still annoying!

Thanks for reading, I know it was long!

This is a disease that most people don't know they have - I just have such a strong family history it only made sense to get tested. A lot of athletes that just "drop dead" after a game or such - have IHSS and never know it. One day their heart just can't take it anymore.
