Tylenol while pregnant

posted 16th Jun '07
I'm 17w 2 d And last night i had a servere headach. I woke i just wanted to sream it hurt so bad. So my husband gave me some tylenol. I was unsure about taking it but i wouldnt have slept if i didnt. When my sister was pregnant with her second child she had cysts on her cervics so the doctor told her to take tylenol for the pain cuz there was nothing they could do until she delivered. I think the baby should be ok cuz her daughter was fine. Do any of you ladies have any advice? thanxs

I think its ok. Most people will take things like that because they aren't incredibly strong. I personally don't take anything. I've been too afraid to throughout my whole pregnancy.

yep, tylenol is ok, but stay away from IB profen products like Motrin and Advil and Aleve. Aleve is naproxen but it isn't considered safe. Her eis a website where you can look up any meds and see the safety ratings for taking it during pregnancy

DITTO. I am too afraid to even have a cough drop...know it sounds silly but this is my first, too paranoid i guess

I do hope feel better soon and my doctor did tell my that Tylenol was fine to take. Fortunately, I have not had a bad headache yet and I will just rest up and relax if I do get one...tough it out, personal choice.

Tylenol is THE pregnancy drug, lol. It's basically what you can take for just about any ache you've got.

Yea Tylenol is like the only thing you can take. I hate it cause it doesn't do squat for me.

Yeah... Tylenol is one of the only things you can take. I believe any variety is ok, but you may want to check with your doctor on that. (And if you have a cold, Robitussin is ok. That's what my doc told me to take... along with vapor rub on my chest. It didn't do crap for me.  )

Tylonol is safe, it is Acetametaphine, which is safe for pregnancys.

I suggest only using name brand drugs period, but more so while your pregnant, sometimes the offbrand is stronger/weeker and doesnt always have all the same ingrediants in it.

good luck with your head ache!

Sucrets are ok, thats what my OB told me to use when i was preggers with Adison.

they come in a white box, and are normally cherry flavored, but they arent bad... they made my mouth and throat go numb though.

You can take Fruit Breezers.  You could ask your doc, but mine said it's ok. I was paranoid at first about medicines, and would take NOTHING, but now... I just ask my doctor, and if he says it's ok, then I take it and don't worry about it.
