Double Topic: 1st birthday & Boobyfeeding

First of all, my daughter will be turning one in two weeks. (Tear,Tear) It has gone by super fast. I plan on throwing her like a beach style party in the backyard. She is kind of anti-social with strangers and I would like to fix it so I invited everyone she's knows and a few new faces to her. I have a sand box for the kids and I just finished putt her pool up today (Its like 3 feet deep & so many wide) Its a big kiddy pool though. I will have her swing set up by then. Most of the kids invited are like 3 or 4 though. Do you think my 1 year old will have fun with these kids?

&& What are you ladies or what have you ladies done for their 1st birthday
P.S. Im also wanting to take her to the zoo, but her grandmother is swearing its too dangerous because of the swine flu. I don't think its that serious but Im like well I would feel awful if. lol. Please tell me my mother is crazy and I should take her.

2nd--I want to stop boobyfeeding, but Im so use to that routine its hard for me to stop myself from giving it to her. She has 6 teeth and working on 2 more, she isn't always graceful, if you catch my drift. lol.

2. I didn't breast feed but if you feel it's time then it's time.. with Jeremiah everything that he had to wean off of just eventually happened. I didn't have a set plan of weaning, just knew it needed to happen soo...

Yes, she takes a cup really well through the day but only if it has water or juice in it..so I have offered her bottles but she will only take them for my mom when Im not home.

Sounds like a good idea for a party. I'm sure she will have fun regaurdless of the other kids ages. About the zoo...we have a membership and go all the time. I'm talken like a couple times a week, even if all we do is go the play area. I don't think you should have to worry too much about the swine flu though. Just my opinion. Have fun!

If it's her first grandbaby she's probably just extra over protective. Understandable.

My daugthers 1st bday party was at a park, and there where kids different ages
there and she too also is anti-social to strangers(the ones that she doesn't see all the time). She wanted me to hold her the whole time. And I still give her booby at least until we come back from vacation off the plane. So keep doing what you feel is comfortable with you as far as giving your daughter booby. We will all know the right time to stop. And the party sounds pretty nice. Goodluck!! There is nothing wrong with going to the zoo, I am going to take my daughter while we are on vacation too.
