After tomorrow B's head wont look like this anymore. I am looking forward to him having a "normal" shaped head, that part i know is for his own benefit. His brain will be able to grow properly and there will be less risk to his eyesight.

Hi i just saw this page no i have not read every comment but i did see the pictures and a few of the comments. My thing is my son has the same thing. They told me that he should get the surgery because they do not want him to be made fun of in school but that he wont have development problems or anything. I'm not sure what to do. This is a serious surgery and I'm so scared, honestly if we only do it so others wont make fun of him then I'm not really comfortable with that. and this is why, I have had three miscarriages before and between my children, to put him through that and if something were to happen I would feel horrible because they said its not necessary. But his doctor said he would do it if it were his son because of the teasing. The other thing is the shape of his head Looks the same as the pictures on here. I'm just so scared and lost as to what to do. My husband and Family say don't do it as well, but I'm still torn. Any help would be great.

wow not sure if anyone is posting now on this thread since last enrty was in 09 I also have a child with craniosynostosis and from what i can understand she has coronal she has already went through 2 surgeries one of which they cut ear to ear and made some cuts to the skull to put in 2 antennas one on each side and i had to turn these devises twice a day for about 3 months or so resulting in rounding out the back of her head since the sutures closed before birth and forced her head to grow upward not round i will attach some pics of before and to date they procedure went well we had some problems with csf leakage which made us stay in hospital for 3 and 1/2 weeks but she was a trooper and recovered amazingly the secound surgery was to remove the devices we had a lil csf leak nothing to major this time around we had a week stay and now on tues april 2nd 2013 she is going to have her frontal vault reconstruction to bring her forehead down and eyebrow area out since her eyebrows sink in instead of coming out I can relate with all who have been scared nervous wrecks and I'm glad to have found this thread finnaly someone to talk to if people are still active on her but here are a few pictures of my angel from birth til now to show her journey
