Thank you all
Surgery is in the AM. I will most likely be spending the majority of the time at the hospital while Cassidy recovers. I will be sure to post an update when I get home as I don't have internet access with my phone.

Hi all:
I stopped at home for a little bit and wanted to let everyone know that Cassidy's surgery went well. They may move her out of PICU tonight to the regular floor and if all goes well, she may come home as early as Monday. She is very swollen and miserable at the moment.

I look forward to seeing some pics if you decide to share. I really hope her recovery is speedy

Hello! My son was just officially diagnosed today with metopic craniosynostosis at nearly 17 1/2 months. His condition is so mild, which is why it was missed by his previous pediatrician's group.

We met with the pediatric neurosurgeon today who doesn't think surgery is necessary but wants to see him again in 6 months. We also have an appointment soon with a pediatric ophthalmologist to confirm whether or not there is intercranial pressure.

Are there any mommas on here who's child has a mild condition and who has elected not to perform surgery?

Also, below are some photos of my son.

His cranio does look very very mild   Lots of moms opt not to have the surgery done when their children have such mild cases.
Let us know how you go with the ophthalmologist

Absolutely! Not sure when his appointment is, probably not going to be until next year but we'll see. I do have a concern about what his head will look like (cosmetically) in the future and whether or not he'll possibly be teased by other children. His doctor said he was willing to perform the surgery, but said that if it was his son, he would elect not to have it done since the "benefit" may not outweigh the risks.

Do you know where I can find photos of teens/adults with mild metopic cranio?

(Also I snagged your cranio quote graphic off your page to put on mine, hope you don't mind!!!)

I haven't posted in soooo long.

I took Booger back to his plastic surgeon and they aren't doing another surgery in three months! I'm so ecstatic. They actually don't even want to see him for six months. He'll be almost a year old.

Merry Christmas to me.
