So he has two fused sutures? Surgery will be needed, it sucks but you can do it   My oldest who is 3.5 had it, she had surgery on March 13th of 06, at 10 weeks old. It was harder on me than her. She is doing wonderful now. We go Oct.14th to get a referral for xrays for our third daughter, because they believe she has it as well

My name is Crystal and my son's name is Carson. He was born July 10th, and shortly after birth he was born with craniosynostosis, his is VERY visible. He will need multiple surgeries because more then one suture fused on him. His first one will be on November 10th. Exactly five weeks from today and the same day he turns four months. I'm scared smurfless.

Thanks, I tried really hard when I was pregnant.

So it finally happened! Carson is almost three months old but it happened. Yesterday was the first time ever that someone asked about his head. I'm completely shocked it took this long. It's VERY obvious looking at him something isn't quite right. I wonder how many people wonder but are too afraid to ask, they probably think I'll jump down their throat.

Well the appointment went the way i thought it would but hoped it wouldnt   he is having his big operation on the 25th of Feb.
im a bit numb

Im sorry mama. It will be much harder on you than him I promise. Children are so resilliant and he wont remember a thing   By day 3 Mackenzie was smiling and laughing like normal. *hugs*

I just hate all the bad information they give..,. Like this can go wrong and this and thing i know they have to tell you but i didn't want to hear it

I remember all of that. Will he have a transfusion? Kenzie had two during surgery. They tell you the worst case senario, which is the same for any procedure big or small. They told me all of it with my gallbladder surgery as well. It will be ok. The worst part will be the night before, and the first 48-72 hours for you. He will have medicine to keep him comfortable. You will be able to hold him and cuddle him also.

My eldest has had heaps of surgeries i just feel extra bad about Brendan because its his head   and he was been through enough being preemie
