Alright I'm going to start with my story:
I was admitted into L&D at 31 weeks 3 day's(on an Friday) for contractions that were regular. I went into the hospital and was checked to be an 4 CM dilated (If I remember correctly). They had started me on Magnisum Sulfate to keep more changes in the cervix from occuring. When they had lowered my dosage down my contractions had jumped back up & when checked I was 4.5 CM dilated. So, they bumped the Magnisum Sulfate back up. (Girl's if you never had Magnisum its worse than having an Natrual Birth IMO)!
Finally after they bumped my Magnisum back up the contractions stopped! I was on this till Saturday (I believe). Well, the OB came in to see me every morning for round's. Sometimes it was my OB. Sometimes it was the OB on call. They had me hooked to an contraction monitor 24/7. And, only did the heartbeat monitor on the twins every 8 hours (for 20 mins).
Well, I had an ultrasound at 32 weeks 3 day's and it showed that Serenity's placenta had aging to it. But, it was nothing to be worried about she was still getting blood flow & nutriants. And my son's cord was wrapped around his head 2x. Tristan was messuring 4 pounds 13oz, And Serenity 4 pounds 8oz.
The doctors still did not hook me up to the heartbeat monitor's 24/7 after knowing that the babies had these problems.
At this time I was able to go outside 3x a day if wanted & shower...
On Thursday (April 16th) 33 weeks 2 day's. My world came crashing. The morning they tried to find 2 differant heartbeats. They had 2 but they were the same. They tried for 30 mins to find 2 differant ones thought they found it and stopped looking & just left it be. They didn't even do the full 20 min strip they should have done. Than that afternoon they had the same problem. Finally they got the u/s technition to come in and take a peak. Serneity was back to being Transverse (was head down an week before). And I thought she was looking at the placenta. And I just thought to myself everything is fine. All the sudden my nurse grabbed my hand the u/s tech looked at me and everything went silent. She turned off the machine & goes hun I'm going to go talk to your OB. I said she has a heartbeat right? She said no, thats why I'm gonna go talk to you OB.
Well, I started to think they would take my SON out! The nurse even thought the same thing. NOPE, the OB on call came in after talking to the (pernicologest) said it would be best to leave your son inside you the longer he is inside you the better his heart rate is doing fine. She goes I Would induce you but that's not my call...They hooked me up to the Heatbeat monitor 24/7..
Friday, I went in for an ultrasound to see how he was doing, Met the Pernicologest the first time. The cord was only wrapped around his head 1x. And he was happy and healthy. SO THEY SAID!.. I yelled and cried to the Pernicologest to get him out I said I KNOW what the risks are of a premiee I said I highly doubt he will have something bad. She kept telling me all the downs about the baby being born early. But nothing good.
I asked isn't it my choice to choose what is best for my son? She said yes, but you cant hand us a knife and tell us to cut you. Hes happy in there. I said yeah she was too and she died in a drop of an hat...
Well, Later that night I and my DH were napping. I was rudly awaken to sweety roll over take a few deep breaths. I lookd at the monitor and my sons heart decelerated he started going into destress. As soon as I rolled over his heart was fine. So they didn't do an Emergancy C section. They called the OB. The ob had told them to induce me. So, at 11:30 PM on April 17th 2009. I was started on an EPI, than had my water's broken, Which soaked EVERYTHING!.. Than had pitocin started since I wasn't dilating fast enough.
On April 18th 2009 my son came into this world pink and screaming and happy! APGAR 8. At 5:00 am 5 pounds 16 inches long. Than my Beautiful Angel Baby Serneity Michelle was born at 5:24 am, 3 pounds 12 oz and 17 inches long.
My son was in the NICU for a few week's. Was on CPAP machine than on the nose canalla. Than on nothing. He had nose feedings till the day before he got sent home. He also nursed and nursed really well!!!..
He is now home with me and doing really well!!... And still is a great nurser. MY OH MY!...
