ur lil girl is autistic??
my bro has aspbergers and my nephew is autistic. its tough!

I was lookin for this forum i couldnt find it. But anyways my son is going this week to be tested for Autism.

No, shes not... I have a 6 year old step son with Aspergers.

how old was he when he was diagnosed? my bro was diagnosed with ADHD at about 5 and then at 15 they changed it to Aspergers. it was tough cuz he was so antisocial, or socially inept, and we didnt know how to handle it

My nephew has autism...

Both are my younger brothers have autism. One has severe autism as well as ADHD & a very severe aggression disorder. The other has Asperger's, but has OCD tendencies as well. So, I have a lot of experience with autism in younger children, they are 7 & 8 now.

He was 6 when he was diagnosed. He has a lot of "issues", but is a very bright kid.

Hes ungodly picky about food. Will not try new foods and will throw up at the smell of something he doesnt like. Hes very friendly, but does not understand how hes suppose to interact with people. Hes extremely sensitive to sound, overly emotional about everything. He has a hard time following simple direction. Its almost as if he has his own agenda. When asked to talk about a certain subject, he will ignore you and talk about whatever is on his mind. He is aggressive, but doesnt know his strength.

Its sometimes hard to deal with. He is very immature. He requires as much attention as my 5 month old. He will not do anything by himself. Something as simple as pulling a cover onto himself, he requests someone else to do or he will throw a fit.

Then there are some days where he shows no sign of anything.

one brother has aspergers with aggressive issues, the other has extreme ADD with a fear of loud noises.

And his speech. That was actually the first sign. Unless youve been around him for years, youd have no clue what he is trying to say.

my brother didnt like to try new foods and would rather starve than eat it, he acts very intitled to things, he says whatever is on his mind, he is sensitive but will not show emotion unless he is angry. He is 20, in school for video games, still a virgin, has no desire to get a job and move out and expects my parents to take care of everything forhim

My son is 5 and we are having him tested cause for one he wasnt hardly speakin by 2 and as he got older he is showing signs like no eye contact no hugs not much socail interaction with other children. He would line things up and get mad if you moved them or took them outta his line. WE at first thought it was just his ears so we had tubes put in but when he still didnt make that much improvement we starting looking for other things and we actually have a freind tell us she thought he was autisic. She had worked with those kinds of kids before and could see signs we couldnt. He is in school and i had the school do a test or whatever they do and they just told me he was borederline and brushed it off at that so im having him tested on fri by an outside source to see what they have to say about it.

Jeremy is the same way, he'll starve before he'll eat something he doesnt like. Hes thrown up over smelling salad.
