Common Discomforts of Pregnancy: Recommended Treatments

We all have discimforts while pregnant and dont really know what to do. these are the recommended treatments, hope it may help you   ...

>BACKACHE:
put heat to the area of the pain. rest more. try pelvic rocking.
Tylenol* 1-2 tabs every 4 hours.
>BLEEDING GUMS:
use a soft toothbrush. try warm salt water rinses.
>SORE BRESTS:
wear a good, well-fitting bra.
>COLD/FLU:
take Sudafed*, or Actifed*, Robitussin DM *for cough,
Tylenol* regular or extra strength, as needed.
>CONSTIPATION:
Drink 8-10 glasses of water each day. exercise every day. eat high fiber foods &
veggies. take Medamucil* each day as needed.
*Do not use enemas or mineral oil*
>DIARRHEA:
take Kaopectate* 1tsp after each BM.
eat the "BRAT" diet (bananas,rice,spplesauce,toast).
call doctor if not better IN 48 hours.
>FATIGUE:
rest often during the day. eat well balanced diet. try not to get "over-tiard".
>HEDACHE:
put cool cloth to head, darken room, & do relaxation exercise.
Tylenol* extra strength 1-2 tabs every hour, no more then 8 tabs in 24 hours.
>HEARTBURN:
eat small, frequent meals. avoid fried, greasy foods. do not lie down after eating.
take antacids as directed by doctor: use of any of these brands:
Riopan*,Gelusil*,Maalox*,Mylanta*, & Tums*.
>HEMORRHOIDS:
clean well after each BM.
eat high fiber foods, fresh fruits & veggies.
take warm sitz baths 3 times a day, as needed.
try not to strain when having a BM
try Metamucial* or a natural laxative.
call doctor for instructions- may use Preparation H* or Anusol*
>TROUBLE SLEEPING:
rest during the day when possible. drink chamomile tea or warm bath.
Do not take sleep meds.
>LEG CRAMPS:
rest lying down with feet up. do runner's stretch.
>NASAL STUFFINESS:
use Ocean drops* or normal salone solutinon nose sprays.
do not use other sprays unless directed by your doctor.
>ROUND LIGIMENT PAIN (cramping in abdomem):
this is a sharp lower stomach pain caused by ligiment stretching.
take warm bath & rest. use slow movements.
take Tylenol* extra strength, as needed.
>SWELLING:
rest on your left side. put your feet up to the level of your heart.
swimming helps decrease swelling.
eat high protein food, like chicken & beans. drink more water.
>SHORTNESS OF BREATH:
stop smoking. do not overload your stomach with food.
>URINARY FREQUENCY:
decrease fluids 2-4 hours before going to bed. decrease caffeine.
>VAGINAL DISCHARGE:
it is normal to have more discharge during pregnancy.
clean/wipe well, where cotton underwear.
wipe front to back after BM & urinating.
call doctor with any burning, itching, fever or back pain.
>VARICOSE VAINS:
do not wear tight knee high hoes or garters.
do not cross your legs at the knees.
wear support hoes.
call doctor for any burning swelling or redness of your lower legs.
