Before I got married I dated a white guy for a year and a few months. He was nice, funny, just everything I was looking for. I could not take people approaching us (black men) making comments, approaching him, shouting out profane comments. I did get a few snarls from some white people but not as many as from black people. He was good at ignoring people and putting them in there place but I was not. It was just so difficult to even see a movie. I eventually ended the relationship. I guess that I was not strong enough to deal with taunts. I don't have a problem with it and if you can deal with the jerks thatwe dealt with on a daily basis then good for you. By the way, I live in Polk County, Fl where black women and white men are not that popular. You know deep south

i do believe people should stick to their own race, i have only dated white boys because i would be a outcast in my family if i chose differently, my best guy friend is black, their is no problem with it, because he is just a friend


i do however not look down on anybody for dating outside their race, i have mixed family on the other side of my family, now even tho their are mixed children and a married bi-racial couple the family does not approve if it but deals with it

I'm sorry that happened, I find it absolutely horrible that after so many years there are STILL people who can't accept people for who they are.

I don't care who someone cares to date whether its in or outside their race. Some people just are not attracted to another ethnicity, I don't think it's racist it's just a personal preference. My sister (black) doesn't date white men, she would rather date a black man. I've had a friend (white) who was never attracted to black men, she only dated white men.

I respect people's beliefs, so I'm not going to jump your case or anything.   I think it seems as if family is the main reason that people don't date outside their race, it's just how people are raised.

Yeah, that's what I think, it's love and attraction, the "colors" are only skin deep, so it shouldn't matter.

Yea, Justin was a nice guy. I still run into him when I am out and about. It feels awkward.Isometimes wonder "what if it would have worked?". But I am happily married now.

i think its a persons personal choice not just how i was raised, i had nothing said to me about not dating outside my race until i actually started dating and but i knew nobody in my family did it, while dating before i was actually allowed to i still choose to date white boys instead of black or Hispanic

I don't have a problem with interracial dating for the most part, but to answer your question honestly I am a little put off by some couples.
The stereotypical interracial couple (applies to a lot of women here) is so blech, for lack of a better word, to look at. Fat and/or unattractive white women and boney unattractive black men seem to flock to each other. When most people think of interracial relationships this is the image that pops up in their head and unfortunatly theres a lot of truth to it. I wish it were more common to see different mixtures of beautiful interracial couples instead of fat ugly white chicks and skinny busted black guys.
