Still- sick kid, having your other kids tested, etc, that's stressful! Even if it's not NOW, it was, and I'm sorry you had to go through any of it.

And yeah, i'm scared of prolapse. ANYTHING to help. And smartballs are so far more fun than doing just plain ol' kegels. They're not FUN fun (like some of the reviews said, sigh) but it's different.

Put the baby in their lap and say, I'm going to shower or get groceries or take a nap. DO NOT BUG ME for at least 2 hrs, he just ate, he won't be hungry.

Happy 4th of July everyone! Anyone got big plans for the day? We don't have anything planned (that I know of). My dad walked in a 5K this morning so Siri and I cheered him on (while the boys were home sleeping) and now the kids and I are watching cartoons. Tomorrow we're going to the Milwaukee Zoo (Operation Freedom gave us free passes!) and then DH and I are going to a wedding down there in the late afternoon. Anyone ever been to a Jewish wedding that's held at 4pm? Know how fancy they are? I don't want to be over-dressed but don't want to be under-dressed either!

Last night I ended up going out with my sister and some friends of hers. It was only for about an hour and a half, but it was sooo needed. DH got home around 1230a. I yelled at him (well, not yell, but gave him a good tongue lashing) and he knows that if it EVER happens again, he WILL be locked out and when he gets in the house he WILL sleep on the couch. I'm not pissed at him anymore (I can't stay pissed at him for more than 12 hours, I've tried!)

Never helped with Mike, what did wake him up was me breaking down and saying I was going to my mom's to shower, then see a movie because if I did not I would snap. (Left screaming Joe with him) He got a better idea of what I was going through because when I got back HE needed a shower and a nap.

Everything I have read says to practice doing it that way for about a week, and you will never be able to if you do not practice. Those balls will do nothing if they don't stay in which will never happen if you can't even stop a pee stream.

MIL is going to do a 30-min trial baby sit this afternoon while i go wander the bookstore or something (not sure what I'm doing yet), and that's all I've got planned for today.

Probably different with a colic baby.
With Jeff once he got used to having Nigella by himself for awhile, without being able to dump the baby back on me, made him more confident. Now he can hang out with her for a couple of hours no problem.

I do regular kegels (well, as best as I can at least) every time I think of it.

With the balls, your PC muscles clench around them automatically to try to hold them in, and they do steadily get stronger. So using the balls, even if I have to keep pushing them back up, is like me doing kegels- gradually rebuilding the muscle. And because i can feel them when I move around, I'm more aware of them being there which means I can do kegels with them in (and clench my muscles on purpose to try to keep them in if I feel them slipping) so it's acting as a reminder.

I'd like her to be used to them so I can leave her there when I go for dr appointments, and so when NB is born I can ship her off to grandmas for a couple of hours so I can nap or something

as you should! I wish I could with Joe, my mom keeps talking about taking Joe for a week or so, but has not been able to get the time off work
