Vaginal Ultrasound???

posted 7th May '09
Okay I am pregnant again after a miscarriage. The Dr checked my HCG and so far so good. But my Dr wants me to have an u/s next week. I am only 5 weeks today; so won't that be too early??? Do you know when they can first see the baby/heartbeat in a vaginal u/s?

They'll do a transvaginal u/s. But I'm not sure about the HB. I think it's 8 weeks. I never had one that early. My earliest was 12 weeks.

Theyll be pretty close to all the action, but it still may be too early to hear the HB.

we KIND of heard our baby's heartbeat at 5 weeks... it was only a couple of beats but she picked it up for a brief sec. It all really depends on the baby, my mom figured I was further along when I told her we were able to hear the h/b, but the tech was right, i was 5 weeks.

generally you can see it as early as 5-6 with a transvaginal. I only had them after my 1 trimester bc I had cervical leeping before getting pregnant
