For all the ladies who asked about diet & exercise routines

posted 7th May
I've been receiving several PM's about how to lose the baby weight and good diet and exercise routines. A longggg time ago back when I was pregnant, I made a thread on tips to help lose baby weight, here it is..

http://forum.baby-gaga.com/about232996.html

Please take a look at that, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me!

Now with that said, here is what my typical day looks like:

Breakfast: 1 packet of low sugar oatmeal mixed with water, not milk... a cup of coffee with 1 packet of splenda and a splash of fat free milk.

2-3 hours later, snack: low cal-low sugar protein bar

2-3 hours later, lunch: either sliced turkey or chicken breast on whole grain bread, no mayo just a dab of mustard. I prefer whole grain bread because it contains no sugar meanwhile whole wheat does have minimal sugar in it.

2-3 hours later, snack: either a fat free yogurt, an apple, or a south beach protein bar

After this, is usually around the time SO gets home and then I head to the gym. I do an hour of hardcore weight training, but I separate my days between body parts. For example: one day will be a complete lower body workout - hams, quads, glutes, calves. Then the next day I'll come in and do back and biceps, next day legs and then next day triceps and shoulders. I do superset ab routines in a circuit training 3 times a week. And I do cardio everyday, I do 20 minutes on the stairclimber and then 15 minutes of sprinting on the treadmill.

Get home from gym: I immediately drink a recovery protein shake that is carb free and fat free. Recovery protein aids in the healing of torn muscles (because that's what happens when you weight train). Then SO heads to the gym himself (because we're workout fiends lol). While he is at the gym I'll start preparing dinner and that will be any lean protein like chicken breast, seafood, or even steaks with all the fats cut off, with a healthy carb like brown rice or sweet potato and a fresh steamed veggie like broccoli or asparagus.

***REMEMBER***
Naturally, our stomachs are only the size of our clenched fists and we don't need to eat more than that to survive. My motto about food: "Eat to Live, and Don't Live to Eat!" Of course, we all tend to overfeed ourselves, giving you that fullfilling sensation of satisfaction with a full belly, but this in essence stretches your stomach out therefore making you capable of eating more and giving you more hunger pangs throughout the day.

PS - I gained 54lb while pregnant and have lost 50lb of it so far.

PPS - Sorry I couldn't reply to each one of you who PM'd me about diet and workouts plans. But if you need help talk in here and I will try my hardest to give you the advice that best suits you.

Thanks!

VPX Zero Carb ZEROTEIN Shake. This is the one I drink. And I'm not saying this one just because SO works for VPX lol, but it really works, I love it and they taste GOOD!

This is basically a low carb diet. If you are going to dramatically reduce your carb intake then you need to add in more fat. HEALTHY fat (olive oil, etc), not trans/sat fat.

This is my major problem area as well, even before baby. I still have 4 inches to lose on each thigh to get them back to pre preggo size (they were 18 inches around pre preggo and at the end of my pregnancy they were 26 inches around, they're now down to 22 inches around!)

The best way to get rid of any fat on any part is tons of cardio and diet diet diet! It takes time and you have to be patient. Then you can worry about toning the legs after you lose the fat! Losing weight the healthy way takes time and you need to have realistic goals and expectations.

BUT.... if there's a day I cant make it to the gym (especially on a leg day which is the most important to me)... I do at home plyometrics. Google 'plyometrics' and read about it a little. And then once you learn about it google different leg plyometric at home workouts. They're fun and they burnnnn!!

Yes, I use olive oil when cooking dinner. And take omega fatty acid supplements.

Ok well I guess i need to be more patient! Im happy to be losing something though. It definately keeps me going. I want to say I have another 6lbs to lose until I reach my goal.
I'll google that cuz I have no idea what it is! Thanks

anything I guess, but I was referring to exercising....do I start with cardio and then move on..or do I just do everything at once?
