bluish purple tint to fingernails ?

I was just in my bathroom putting on coco butter, when i noticed my fingernails have a bluish purple tint to them, im not sure when it occurred but my nails were normal colored about 5 hours ago, i haven't payed much attention to them between now and then, so im not sure when the color changed exactly. Has this happened to anyone or does anyone know what it could be ? it kinda scared me at first cause my nails have never been this color out of nowhere. I searched on google and it really didnt tell me much of what it is :/ Im not sure if i should be worried or not. Thanks in advance !

it means you are lacking oxygen. call your doctor!

the only thing ive heard about blueish fingernails is that is a late sign of lung cancer (moms an ER nurse lol)

but i doubt you have lung cancer haha

seriously. i grew up with a heart defect and that was the one thing they warned me to look out for...blue fingernails=lack of oxygen.

did you try cleaning them to make sure it isn't a stain from something?

Lack of oxygen is my best guess.

Lack of oxygen or you are cold. After my cerclage was put in they checked my nail bed coloring and said they were blue so she sat there rubbing my hands to warm them up.

i had a ventricular septal defect (it closed) and a mtiral valve prolapse (well, the mvp they thought...but now they just call it a leaky valve or something..i forget)

I just called and the OB nurse said i was prolly cold, but im not. she told me not to worry about it or anything, so i guess its nothing bad. thanks though !

Mitral valve regurgitation. They also call mine a leaky valve, is that what you have? I had to have surgery to close mine because it was backing up blood into my lungs.

I had a heart murmer has a kid but no one ever though anything. Until I literally couldn't breathe, couldn't walk and my heart felt like it was going to burst threw my chest at any second.
