IUD Question

had an IUD put in on April 7.I came on my period the Sunday right before then and went off on Tuesday the 7th after having the IUD put in. Well that following Sunday I came on again which was the 12th and I have been on ever since.So my question is is this normal with the IUD or should I be concerned and call the doctor?

I was told bleeding irregular for the first 3 months is normal

My best friend said she bleed on and off for a few months at first.
