holy freakin' huge!!! ... car seat question

posted 2nd May
so it's time to buy a bigger car seat... my 4 month old "is the size of an average one year old" (exact words of pedi). he's 21 lbs. and i can barely buckle the infant seat anymore and his feet are hanging over the edge.

so what car seat do you ladies recommend (and why)? he grows fast (obviously   lol) so i need one that has a decently high weight capacity so i don't find myself buying another seat in a few months... and also has the option of sitting backwards. i'm willing to pay up to $200 or so.

thanks SOOOOO much!

I would go with a convertible Eddie Bauer.

I got a nice greco from target for about $90 It's rearfacng and frontfacing. I want to get another one when Mia's bigger because I'm not sure how hard she's going to be on things, It would suck to spend a ton of money on one nowthen have to buy another one when she's 3-4yrs old.

True Fit (will hold him rear facing to 35 lbs)

ETA: It goes to 65 lbs, it is a convertible   But rear faces to 35, so should keep him rear at least to a year!

Evan was 23 pounds at 4 months old, so I TOTALLY understand! LOL

Both of my boys have an EvenFlo Trumiph convertible seat. It goes up to 50 pounds and 50 inches forward-facing. You also can rear-face up to 35 pounds actually! Which is good when you have a chunker! hehe! I love how it has the adjust 5-point harness. It makes getting them in and out easy (you can loose the straps) as well as it allows you to tighten the harness more when you need it (like if they are wearing a bulky jacket or sweater).

I could go on and on. I love it and my boys to do! I would check it out. Here is a link to theone that BRU has http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3028986KMart carries one that is black on black. Target carries one that is tan and mint green. I have the black on black one.
