Do you know what the best site is to buy books that ship to Canada. Amazon seems to have a ton of regulations...that make no sense to me. lol

What do you suggest?

Your reasoning makes sense. I tend to buy most of my books as well, I do not like wasting money on a book I don't even finish because it's so bad. On the same hand I don't mind borrowing the book from the library. I'm just frustrated that the book won by vote and a lot of people are opting out of reading it   If people keep opting out of this book the book club is going to die and I don't want to see that happen.

If the people who take the books out respect them, nothing. But, I find most people don't, and I'm sick of opening up a book to find splotches of food and various bodily substances.

It really triggers my need to wash my hands when I read a library book. I can't even concentrate on the book, all I can think of is "this book is filthy. go wash your hands."

Ray Bradbury is known for writing science fictional short stories. Books like The Martian Chronicles and Fahrenheit 451 are his most famous. What he likes to do is take current controversial issues and place them into "what if" situations. Fora few quick examples try "There Will Come Soft Rains" in the The Martian Chronicles or "The Pedstrian" which I think is in Fahrenheit 451. Great author, but you have to know a little history to understand some parts of his writings.

Instead of havingthe "traditional" book club that isn't really working, why don't we just use the thread to discuss (or even debate if it came to it) any book we may be reading. This way, we can learn about other books and decide if we want to read them ourselves. Without much structure, more of a free for all of books!

Too much?

That is definitely a book that I would agree with.

If anyone likes crime novels (I usually don't, but this one is good) then I suggest In the Woods by Tana French.
