Swelling, is so much normal?

Okay, so I know some swelling is perfectly normal for being this far along, but I'm getting a little bit paranoid, although I'm trying not to.
Here's the gist. Today I've been a lazy bum, , and I've hardly done anything but sit around on the computer except visit the store once to get some groceries. But my legs are sooo swollen. They hurt really bad too, like I've walked a marathon on them. I wore some socks when we went out to the store and took them off when we got home, these were nice comfy loose socks. I laid down for a while cause my feet hurt and like over an hour later I STILL had a line where the socks were on my feet.
The swelling seems to be getting worse too. I'm trying to keep my feet propped up and stuff, but like is this really normal? When I stood up a few seconds ago (I'm cooking some chicken fillets in the oven and I went to check on them) I like saw stars and was dizzy and I didn't stand up fast or anything.
So am I just being paranoid? Should I be worried? I've not had any problems with blood pressure ever *knock on wood* but that would have been my first guess. :/ When I was at L&D about 2 weeks ago they found +1 protein in my urine, but didn't think anything of it cause my blood pressure was fine.. should I be worried?

in my opinion u shud just go to the docs hun....these are all signs of preeclampsia. i know swelling is normal in pregnancy especially at this late stage but protien plus stars plus swelling? i think u shud go get checked...let us know how u get on

Yeah, I'm pretty worried about that myself, but like I said the triage nurse at L&D didn't even bother telling my doctor about the +1 in my urine cause my blood pressure was perfectly normal. Bleh. I've a doctor's appointment today and I'll pester him about it and see what he thinks.

Have you tried putting something cold on your legs and feet ? I had really bad swelling and water retention when i was prego with my son and it's the only thing that help a bit.

I would definitely talk to your doc about it. I have a job where I sit at a computer all day and it causes me to swell if I don't make a point of getting up every hour or so and walk around to help the circulation. Sitting for long periods can be just as bad as standing. The whole dizziness thing is what I'd be concerned about. They say preeclampsia also will normally cause your hands/face to swell.
