Yeah I know. We will probably wait anyways. At least we can do other things since there was no trauma down there! Lol

LOL..when that first time after baby happens, don't be sad if it still isn't up to par. But sex for me and SO is never bad so hopefullyit'll be worth the wait for you LOL.

I know every pregnancy is different but I'm wondering how long is it after you have the c-section before you can hold your LO? Everyone I personally know who had one done had to wait for a long time for some reason or another so I'm wondering what everyone else has experiencined.
It may be selfish of me but I want to hold my little guy right away , so I'm hoping you don't always have to wait a long time!

I think that's the norm for everyone. Recovery for an hour and then they take you to your room and bring you baby. The only reason for it taking longer is that there may be issues with baby. I had to wait 7 hrs. before seeing my twins because they had temp and resp. issues. If baby is healthy, you'll see them about an hour after they are born.

I got to hold her as they wheeled me out of the OR =D
Not all situations are the same though and I believe I got VERY lucky.

yea, cause I'm pretty sure what happened with you isn't what happens usually. Different doctors, different hospitals...but there is a general rule, I guess you should say. My SO went with all 3 after they were born to the nursery and helped them while I was in recovery. I got to see them all and kiss them and touch them for a few while SO held htem in the OR...but I didn't hold them until after I was settled in the post partum room.

Yeah there was no emergency ness to my c section and i had no problems and neither did she. She stayed with me the whole time they gave her her first bath in my recovery room and everything. got to bf her about an hour after she was born

My first was no problems either...healthy long 41 week pregnancy resulting in8lbs 14oz. of baby but I still didn't hold her until they brought her to me in the room. You just got lucky...wish it was that way for everyone!

My hospital is like yours,I got to hold the baby in the operating room and I carried her out of the operating room.I was nursing 45 minutes after her birth.

I was in labor for 37 hours, little progression, and very irratated with the place I chose for my prenatal care. I ended up with a beautiful little girl, though.
