*GASP* WOW! It's been almost a month since I was on here last! Time sure does fly when ya get busy, hey? And I've been REALLY busy!
I hopped on mainly to announce to you girls that I'm starting to sell my nursing aprons! I got this brainy idea to make the straps a bit easier to adjust (not to mention easier to make!) and BAM! here I am posting ads on Kijiji and my local newspaper's web site.
I'm sure you guys probably don't remember my design for a nursing cover... it's got crossed straps to keep you completely covered and the straps are now adjustable with 'D' Rings or Velcro (I'll still do buttons if someone asks, but they're such a pain lol). I'll post pictures so you can all see what I'm talking about.
Anyway, besides that, I've been trying to get rid of some of the junk in our house... had a garage sale yesterday and tried today, but I got rained out. I'm hoping the weather is nice tomorrow so I can finish up the sale, but who knows. I've also started singing in the church choir, doing a Roots of Empathy program with Tristan at the local elementary school, and finally decided to hunker down and potty train Evan (it's going REALLY slow, but we're getting there). Choir is fun... haven't sang in a group setting since high school so it's been interesting. Roots of Empathy is a course done in public schools to teach the students about feelings.... apparently, the program has been known to reduce bullying and teen pregnancies. You'd have to look it 'cause it's hard to explain, but basically an instructor comes in once a week to discuss the topic for the month and the family (mother/father and baby) come in once a month to demonstrate the topic (for instance, why a baby cries). The following week after the family has visited, the instructor goes over what the class learned while they observed the baby. They do this over the course of 9 months (the school year) and the kids watch the baby grow and develop. They also learn the demands and needs a baby has, thus discovering they'd rather wait til they're stable to have children. It's really very interesting how it all works. Here's a link: http://www.rootsofempathy.org/
So yeah... that's just a little bit of what I've been doing. lol
I'd type more in response to what's been going on here, but my mind is a little befuddled considering how late it is and I've already written too much. lol With that said, I'll post my pictures for you all and head off to bed to hopefully get a good nights rest before the crazy garage sale morning.

So that's it so far. I've got other ideas for the body as well. Maybe elastic at the top to keep the fabric close to you until you decide to peek in, and mesh may work as well... I've seen that on several other covers. If any of you ladies have any ideas that may help me alter my design to make it better, let me know. I'm all open to feedback!
P.S. If any of you would like one, for yourself or a friend or something, please, let me know and I'd be happy to make you one!

It does sound like you have been very busy. That roots for empathy thing sounds really cool though.. Keep me updated on that.. I don't think we have anything like that around here.. Sounds like something we need though.. There is so many teen pregnancies now a days and it is just sad... Anyways.. Good luck with the potty training.. I am still trying to decide if TJ is ready or not... Some days it seems like it others it doesn't.

Yeah it seems like everyone has kind of just disappeared. I guess it is what happens sometimes. I hope mine gets better as well. So far it hasn't.. although i have had a few good days.. I am sorry to hear about starting AF. I am hoping I start mine soon... Think it is delayed because of the stress..guess i just need to relax.

On the 30th TJ will be 22 months. So they were born 10 days apart how neat...

Yeah stress can be a pain in the arse indeed. I have enough of it right now to fill a car lol, but I'm trying to not let it get to me. I hope yours gets better(f) I'm always here if you ever wanna talk or vent. i hope your af shows up really soon, i think that's neat our kids are only 10 days apart. What all can TJ do? does he talk a lot? is he in a toddler bed now? potty trained? can he make full sentences or sound very crisp and clear? yeah i know lots of questions lol

Well AF showed up today. But I need to make an appt with the gyno because I am having severe cramps and ever since I got my IUD in December each month it seems to be very irregular. I hate going into the gyno... Ummm about TJ... He is not potty trained, and he doesn't sleep in a toddler bed. He says a lot of words and some of them I understand perfectly others not so much.. He has gotten into this bad habit of talking with the corner of his blanket in his mouth so I have to tell him to take his blanket out and talk to me. He doesn't say like full on sentences but will say stuff like bye bye horse (or any animal, car person etc), whats this, and if promted will say love mom/dad (you have to ask him to say each word seperatly for that one though) Some of his words are very crisp and clear it just depends... I am a little upset at my step dad.. he taught my son to say Bullsh** and thinks it is funny.. and that unfourtantly sounds perfect. but what about your daughter?

LOL I guess I was being a stranger 'cause I haven't been on for quite some time. I tend to just hop on quick and since I figured I'd better go through my email and do all my replying, I ran into the notification email for BG and thought I'd better let you all know I'm still breathing. lol
Thanks about the aprons and all. I've got them on facebook now, but I still don't have an actual offical web site yet. I think I'm gonna need some help with that 'cause I'm not all that computer/internet smart. So far, I've given several aprons away and a few people show interest via my ad on Kijiji.ca, but haven't made any money on it just yet. It's still a work in progress.
Uh oh... baby crying. BRB!

Ashley: That's awesome TJ is speaking so well. I can only imagine your frustration that he knows words he shouldn't know yet. Kids are little sponges and pick up on things we don't even realize sometimes. I wish I could give you some advice on what to do about your step dad, but I have no clue how to approach that at all. That really sucks.

Evan doesn't talk all that much. He'll say Mommy, Daddy, Ree (which means Auntie Jen, Maryn, and Marie), Pee, Poo, Potty, Nigh-nigh, Bye, Bubble, Water, and Hi. Oh and his new favorite word lately is Car. Besides that, he can't really say much yet. He makes sounds that are his way of saying some words... like Water, he says something that sounds like Why, but he usually says Bubble when he's talking about anything liquid. lol
Evan doesn't sleep in a toddler bed yet. I tried it a while back, but he would freak out when we'd close the door to his room for the night so I switched his bed back to a crib. I'm a little hesitant to switch it over again because Tristan's in the same room and I don't want Evan grabbing at him. I think I'll wait a bit longer to switch him over... I'd like Tristan to be able to defend himself so I'll wait til he's able to move on his own.
We're still working on potty training. He hasn't gotten the poop situation under control so I'm not saying he's completely potty trained yet at all. He also still has a few accidents most days. We've gone accident free a few days, but not consistantly for more than 2 days. I'm shocked that he doesn't usually have accidents while we're out of the house. I'm not complaining, by any means... I just wish he'd do as well at home. lol
Tristan is doing great. He's found his hands and tries to put things in his mouth all the time. I'm still desperately working on getting him to sleep at night. He likes to wake up every two hours at night every now and then. He's wonderful during the day though.   He's also rolled over for the first time from tummy to back... it was actually in the middle of a course we're involved in with a 2nd grade class, so the entire class saw him roll for the first time. It was pretty neat.
So a few days ago our washer died on us... our dryer had been on its last leg for months. I actually had to hand wash some diapers and stuff, but a few days later we bought a brand new set of high efficient machines! I've been doing laundry like crazy ever since and loving it!   They're front loaders so that leaves space on top to fold the clothes and stuff. I haven't had piles of clothes on my floor for quite some time now!   Yay! lol
Oh and I'm loving doing cloth diapers. I've found a system that works best for me. The diapers are very absorbant... they don't leak as much as disposable ones did for Evan. And they're actually easier to use than a lot of people think. If anyone wants to look into it, you can check out this site by a mother that's been doing cloth diapers for quite a while and researches diapers and washing techniques. http://allaboutclothdiapers.com/I use prefolds and Thirsties diaper covers during the day and at night I use large prefolds and nylon or polyester pull on diaper covers (they last ALL night long without leaking). The cool thing is I don't have to use pins like moms used to back in the day. There are things called snappies that grip the fabric so you don't worry about accidently poke your kids. Cloth diapers have changed so much since we were babies!
Okay, I'm done with my rant for the day. lol
Is it just me or has just about every forgotten about our thread? Well, I guess it has been almost 2 years since our wee ones were born. I'm amaized we're still going at all. Too cool and kudos for the rest of you who are sticking around.
Talk to you ladies later!
