re: Pregnant after preemie

posted 12th Oct
Hey, i somehow managed to miss the last page. Happy belated birthday and YAY for 27 weeks.. only a few days till you'll pass that elusive 28 week mark lol. Doesn't it feel so great to make it to the third tri safely with no signs of baby arriving? I know i felt a ton better after 28 wks   I did find it strange past that though, knowing how big my baby was and what he was capable of, but still inside me this time.. it was bizare! Here's to another 10 weeks for you

well almost 23 weeks and man Im so scared! had tests last week which showed the ureaplasma and strepB already, so just finished a course of antibiotics for that so FX it comes to NOTHING!
I think Ill stop stressing after 27 weeks (at least!)

I'm so glad things are going so well! Please continue to be diligent though. Rest, drink lots of water, and pay attention to your body. Faith was born at 28 weeks, and at 28 weeks everything was still great with Ethan. There was about 3 days warning that things were going wrong and then he was born. So I guess I'm just saying don't get too comfortable. Continue to do all you can to be healthy and keep that baby in there!

Yea I know. I have been trying to rest as much as I can but going to school at night is kinda hard to get rest! I am also happy cause I am in my last class and then I go and do my externship and then get certified to be a MA. But I will continue to take it easy...

I know that feeling... When I got pregnant with my daughter last November I "just knew" that I wasn't getting past 32 weeks. My son had been born 8 weeks early and so I was convinced that I wouldn't carry this baby to term either. When I hit 32 weeks I was able to relax some, but once I hit 38 and 39 weeks I was begging to have it over with... I just wanted to go into labor bad, but my OB told me that he was convinced that I was going to go 41 weeks, as I hadn't delivered my son naturally so it was like my first baby with my daughter. To my pleasure and surprise I ended up delivering a healthy baby girl the day before her due date! So for your sake I hope you get the same pleasure I was able to!

Well ladies Im exactly 29 weeks! I am so happy to have made it! I was 28 weeks when my little Gabby was born. Everything still seems to be going good! Im so happy to be this far! Now its only 11 more weeks and my baby girl or boy will be here! I cant wait!

This maybe off topic but I am too excited! I am almost done with school! I have 2 more weeks left in this class and then I begin my externship! I am glad to know that I have been able to raise Gabby on my own, and go to school, and be preggo! I will be huge when I begin my externship! Then I graduate 4 weeks after I begin my externship!

But just thought I would give you ladies and update about how I am doing with this pregnancy.

This is a great forum!! I had my son at 32wks, would have been earlier but they were able to hold of labor for a few wks. He is now a happy healthy 16month old!! The NICU is a very scary place especially for first time parents, it is scary for 2nd and 3rd, etc time parents as well. I am now 6wks pregnant with our 2nd child, my husband is freaked out! I am also to a point but they had no explaination for why I went into preterm labor to begin with. It is kinda hard to try to prevent something when you don't know what caused it in the first place. I am already on progesterne pills, twice a day (UGH), have had one us, my 2nd one is this monday (10-26).
Being pregnant agian is scary but I am so excited! I know I will be freaking out around 28-29wks when I started going into preterm labor with my son. I just want to go to term, heck I won't even complain if I go over. LOL
Congrats to all the expectant mommies!!! You are all in my thoughts and prayers for a long, un-eventful term pregnancy!!

Well done! I had to drop out of school because i was so ill at the start of the pregnancy and i was SO pre occupied i struggled to get on with it! You're doing an awesome job for those kiddies mama

I must update the OP with the final results of my 'pregnancy after preemie'! I still can't believe how big this 'little' boy is, he's growing so fast it just blows my mind compared to everything in our NICU journey! He's only 7 weeks and is about the same size his brother was at 8 months old!!!

Welcome Emmy, i hope you have a long and stress free pregnancy this time.

Isn't it amazing how fast some preemies catch up?!?! Congrats LO, hope you keep growing!!! Sorry you had to drop out of school when you were pregnant, I am hoping that is not the case for me as well. So far I have been managing, but since my family doesn't know I am pregnant yet, I must pretend I feel great!! LOL
Thank you!! I am hoping for a long and stress-free pregnancy this time around also!! (I am definetly hoping for the long part!!! LOL)

I didn't tell my family until i was 28 weeks this time. It was much better just going it alone as it took off a lot of the pressure ya know? I don't see them very often so it was alright, but i can imagine if you see your family alot that would be harder to do!

Sorry the results came back so high. I hope this next course does the trick. At least you'll beout the real 'danger zone' fairly soon, although of course you want to go full term. I love the name Adele btw, got my FX for you both.
