re: Birth Mom Support Thread

After all that's gone on this week, I am highly considering adoption. My family is just dysfunctional. I don't have a job yet, etc. I think I'll start filling out those forms today, and also call the adoption consuelor.

I just gave my second up for adoption Its difficult at times but I just remember the positive in it coun8eling helps

im a single mom and just gave up a baby 4 days ago. i need support and someone to talk to...its hard looking at my 14 month old knowing she should have a sister but i couldnt do it alone with two....im heartbroken.

SLC has some good birth mom support groups. The best one I went to was in American Fork though.

What hurts the most is when the one person who is supposed to be your biggest supporter, isnt anymore! Ive been with my boyfriend for almost a year. Hes heard me talk about being a birthmom and has seen posts on facebook about her and being a birthmom etc. so i nevr made it a point to spell itnout for him that i placed my daughter bc i figured it was pretty obvious i mean geeze i even have a tattoo for her with her name!! Well appatently today someone pointed out the fact that ii was a birthmom to him today.....he flipped. He was ignoing me and acting pissed and when i finally go it out of him what was wrong it was Abby. He said he doesnt agree with it and he cant understand why i eould do such a thing. Saying stuff like i shouldve stepped up abd dealt with it and all this other stuff. He said he does t know how to deal with the sitaution and doesnt know what to do bc he so much against adoption. It hurts....bad!!! Idk what to do. Hes still ignoring me and he left saying nothing but ill be back. Advice please!!!!!

I would leave him. He sounds like a douche. Just the fact that someone had to SPELL IT OUT FOR HIM and then he is acting like a smurfer.. is beyond crazy. I would not want to be with someone that doesnt accept of somethign that happened before their time.

He sounds like a closed minded prick. I wouldn't waste my time trying to fix a situation where you are not in the wrong.

I totally agree with the other girls. I hate when people in general give me smurf about my decision to place my daughter. I find it hard to explain my reasoning for the adoption (to certain people) I can't imagine someone that close to me being so critical about something so close to my heart. I'm sorry he's such a butt!!

On another note, I should introduce myself. I'm Emily. I placed my daughter when she was 2 days old. She just turned 3 last month. I had another BG profile when I was pregnant with her...and then decided to make a new one (for stupid reasons) when I became pregnant now. I need to update my current profile.

Well I decided to start a site a couple months after she was born to reach out to other birth mothers who felt like everyone forgot about them. Right now though, I am attempting to get an archive of Birth Mother's info so I can send them a card on their child's birthday and on mothers day (the days we are all forgotten and lonely!!) How did you guys deal with the first birthday?

Ethans is coming up and I seriously dont know how I am going to feel or act or be. I should be happy right?

I chose life, right? He is living. Has the chance for life, right? Thats all that matters in the end, right? My mental state doesnt smurfing matter because I decided to have sex, right? God I smurfing hate this. I know Ethans birthday isnt until Nov. 3rd. But its coming soooooo soon.

My exs daughters is on the 27th of this month. Im a smurfing mess. Im thinking about getting my tubes tied because I dont want anymore kids. I dont want to go through getting another abortion, adoption or raising another kid single again.
