As for getting advice, you can get advice, but there are always going to be people who put down parenting decision. Just use common sense.

well im almost 20 and everyone ive ever met in real life, not internet life, says im real mature for my age and they would of never guessed i had my son in HS. i guess its since my SO is23 lol

Possibly. It's usually just a feel I get for people about their age.

I think im doing a damn good job at parenting my kids. At least i wasnt one of those hilbilly rednecks and said ohh well those are his baby teeth they will fall out no point in taking him to the dentist.

Well yeah. I can see where everyone is coming from, though. Soda and candy really is bad for them, and not just their teeth. It creates bad eating habits for when they get older.

well i do feel horrible for I said and I am sorry. If people would of just gave me a little bit of advice and went on with thier lives it would of NEVER came out. But I say stuff I dont mean when I get mad. If you knew me you would know that. Im all the time saying stuff mean to SO when we get into an argument. He knows its just because Im mad and doesnt take it with a grain of salt. But I am sorry.

Yeah pretty much.

Then I came in and tried defending her. Not her actions, just the fact that there was nothing that she could do at this point besides learning from her mistakes and preventing it from happening again.

But then she came back with the "classics" of how everyone was being this way onlybecause she was a teen, tried to defend her actions saying that we were lying if we said we didnt give our kids soda, candy and gum, and then that she wished something terrible happened to our babies. ButI think she has apologized for that at this point.

So, you missed nothing important. lol

I didnt read through the whole 12 pages, but I used to babysit a 3 year old boy and his teeth were so bad they had to be pulled and he ahd to have fake teeth put in until his "big boy teeth" grew in. He was in so much pain through that whole process! Try like hell to get that under control now before it leads to that, good luck

The dentist should have given you all of the advice you needed, if he didnt, you should have asked. its his job to answer questions. If that were me, to be honest, I would have called CPS. At two, he may be able to feed himself, but he doesnt do the shopping. I tried to be nice, then read back a few pages, and I dont feel bad for you. I understand that this is a finished post and everyone has already told you their opinions, but itsmy turn now. I think you came on ehre looking for sympaty because you know what you did is wrong. Granted you, nor nyone else can change the past, how did yuo really expect people to act? This is a site for moms, not "so called moms" like you previously called us. Moms protect their children, and its also a mothers nature to protect children in general. If you honestly thought that we would have felt bad for you, and not for your son, then I'm sorry, but you have this site, us gaga mothers, and motherhood in general all wrong!
