CREEK COUNTY IN NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA NOWATA COUNTY IN NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA NORTHWESTERN OKMULGEE COUNTY IN NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA EASTERN OSAGE COUNTY IN NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA PAWNEE COUNTY IN NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA ROGERS COUNTY IN NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA TULSA COUNTY IN NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA NORTHWESTERN WAGONER COUNTY IN NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA WASHINGTON COUNTY IN NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA
* UNTIL 1045 AM CDT
* AT 930 AM CDT... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING GOLF BALL SIZE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS TO 70 MPH. THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 21 MILES WEST OF HULAH TO 9 MILES WEST OF OKESA TO HALLETT TO 21 MILES WEST OF DRUMRIGHT... MOVING EAST AT 40 MPH.
* SOME LOCATIONS NEAR THE PATH OF THESE STORMS INCLUDE... HALLETT... CLEVELAND... JENNINGS... HOMINY... TERLTON... OSAGE... BARNSDALL... OKESA... OILTON... WESTPORT... MANNFORD... OCHELATA... TORNADOES CAN DEVELOP SUDDENLY FROM SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS. TAKE COVER ON THE LOWEST FLOOR IN AN INTERIOR ROOM AND STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
THIS STORM HAS A HISTORY OF PRODUCING LARGE HAIL. SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY INSIDE A STURDY STRUCTURE AND STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

I used to live in oklahoma. I survived the may 3 tornadoe of 1999. it destroyed the neighborhood a block away from us and tore the roof off of our house.

I have lived in Oklahoma all my life, but thank god I have never been in one. I remember that one. It come right up the turnpike to us.

i lived on tinker AFB at the time. it was horrible i remember we had to get out quickly because we smelled gas and we had to blow out all the candles. that tornado has made me scared of thunder storms. its amazing some of hte stories i remember tho. like the little baby i think was in big cabin? the police thought she was a doll and she didn't have a scratch on her but was lifted like a football feild away?

We have had tornado watches/warnings everyday for a week and with the tornado today that 2 tornados in that week!

THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

PARTS OF EASTERN COLORADO
PARTS OF NORTH AND WEST KANSAS
LARGE PART OF SOUTHERN NEBRASKA

EFFECTIVE THIS MONDAY AFTERNOON FROM 335 PM UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT.

TORNADOES...HAIL TO 4 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND
GUSTS TO 80 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE
AREAS.

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 80 STATUTE
MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 70 MILES NORTHWEST OF LIMON
COLORADO TO 50 MILES EAST OF HASTINGS NEBRASKA. FOR A COMPLETE
DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE THE ASSOCIATED WATCH OUTLINE UPDATE
(WOUS64 KWNS WOU4).

REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

DISCUSSION...THUNDERSTORMS WILL INCREASE IN NUMBER AND INTENSITY EWD
ACROSS THE WATCH AREA AS THE AIRMASS HAS BECOME MDTLY UNSTABLE WITH
50-60KT OF EFFECTIVE SHEAR. SUPERCELLS ACCOMPANIED BY VERY LARGE
HAIL AND POSSIBLE TORNADOES WILL BECOME AN INCREASING THREAT THRU
THE EVENING. STORMS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP INTO A FORWARD PROPAGATING
SEVERE MCS LATER THIS EVENING WITH INCREASING DAMAGING WIND THREAT.

AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 4 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE
WIND GUSTS TO 70 KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO
550. MEAN STORM MOTION VECTOR 26030.

following locations

Statement as of 4:09 PM MDT on June 15, 2009
... A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 445 PM MDT
for central Weld and northwestern Morgan counties...

At 410 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a
severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail... and
damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located 6 miles
northwest of Jackson Reservoir... or 22 miles northwest of Fort
Morgan... moving northeast at 25 mph.

Locations remaining in the warning include but are not limited to
Weldona... Riverside Reservoir... Orchard... New Raymer... Log Lane
Village... Jackson Reservoir... Goodrich and Fort Morgan.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

If severe weather approaches your area... go inside a sturdy shelter
away from creek beds and other flood-prone areas. Remember... a severe
thunderstorm can produce large damaging hail... damaging winds in
excess of 58 mph... deadly lightning... and very heavy rain.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM MDT Monday evening
for northeastern Colorado.
