re: Circumscision

Nowadays it is not recommended. And besides, the only other people in the world who do it besides the Americans are the Muslims and the Jews. If you do research and check out the numbers, less and less American boys are circumcised every day.

When dylan and i have a son, we are not getting him circumcised. Its totally unnecessary and not worth it IMO.
If i was a boy i wouldnt want someone going and chopping skin off around my penis, so i would never do that to my son.
Plus if the skin wasnt meant to be there, then it wouldnt. The foreskin is there to protect the head of the penis, and to stop bacteria getting into the penis. I think its mean to put a baby through that.
I know im gonna get people who dont agree with me but i dont care. thats my opinion.

We are still scheduled with the surgeon in about 6 months for another consultation. But I feel like unless he feels strongly (with good sound reasons) to have it done then we will more than likely not. I don't want to put him through something that isn't really "necessary". Plus I've grown so used to how it looks and to me it would prolly look "weird" to be done now lol. My husband is circumsized but I'm sure with reading all we can we can teach him everything he needs to do to keep it clean. I feel like this was just the cards we were given in his life. Plus if it wasn't needed for something why would they be born with it. Also my dad is almost in his 60's and told me not to have it done. He isn't and hasn't had any problems with it.

its totally up to you. My son just had his corrected (he had bad adhesions) and he is 3 1/2. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. He didnt complain at all even afterward. He hasn't wet the bed since it was corrected and seems to be a lot happier. A lot of people have bad UTI's in my family so doing it was good. Plus, I like that it lowers the risk of whoever he ends up with getting cervical cancer and lowers the risk of STD's.
