Why I Believe in Extended Breastfeeding (Beyond 1-2 years)

Breastfeeding continues to be a valuable source of nutrition and disease protection for as long as breastfeeding continues.

• Nursing toddlers benefit NUTRITIONALLY
• Nursing toddlers are SICK LESS OFTEN
• Nursing toddlers have FEWER ALLERGIES
• Nursing toddlers are SMART
• Nursing toddlers are WELL ADJUSTED SOCIALLY
• Nursing a toddler is NORMAL
• MOTHERS also benefit from nursing past infancy

Personally I think when they are old enough to ask for it they are too old. REGARDLESS of health benefits.

What's the point of breastfeeding until the kid is nine years old?
I saw a video the other day of a woman breastfeeding her nine and thirteen year old

I'd like to BF longer as well. I'm just hoping that he doesn't wean himself! He's already started to  .

haha yep.is that the one where she admitted on the tyra show that she doesnt even think she has any milk left???

Yeah I hope he doesn't wean too soon. I want to go at least 2 years. Every year after that is icing on the cake.

  exactly. i think beyond 2 yrs, is a bit much

I didn't start this thread to debate that lady nursing her 13 year old. It's in resources and links because I wanted to provide some resources and links for people who were interested.
