I would LOVE to do an elective scan but there aren't any in our area and I know for a fact my husband would say NO WAY that we can just wait! GRRR oh well!
It seem like we have been on BG together for along time and I know how badly you want your little girl! I'm sure you will give in and have an elective done! haha
My next appt is on March 12th but I'm sure my antonmy scan wont be until around April 8th... but I am going to see if my ob will do it March 26th since I will already be up there for my daughters drs appt that day! I will be like 18wks 5days so I would think they would?!?!

My midwife doesn't do anatomy scans until 22 weeks now  

Bummed me out with my daughter. Got all excited to schedule it, then found out it was further away lol

Oh my that would STINK! I could have found out at 18 wks with my daughter but she had her legs completely crossed and closed! Didnt want to show us the goods so we had to wait another 2 weeks it was horrible!
My earliest one to find out was our 2nd son he was like just under 18 weeks. It's funny because I was so eager to find out this time until after my 12 wk scan and the tech told me about the nub theory now I am driving myself crazy haha!

It did. I think because I had my hopes up. lol Supposedly at that point everything is really clear on the scan and it helps avoid the "something could be wrong" diagnosis or whatever. IDK.
But this next time I'm not finding out. So I guess I'll have to deal with it haha.

Brave and strong! I couldn't do it, have thought of it with a few of ours but couldn't wait until birth! I really should have with my first since my dr only gave me a sono at 14 wks and than at 32 wks! I should have just waited since we were almost there anyways! I had to have a gender netural shower since we didnt know which was a pain!

Nope, I don't mind at all! I've been obsessing over it too because it's not a textbook perfect example of a girl shot. I would have done Ramzi's theory with early placenta location, but it was wrong with both boys and this time it is dead center at the top of the fundus so no way to guess. I'm in a state of disbelief that they keep saying girl so far because it just seems too good to be true because I want one so bad. I probably still won't believe it after birth. After I had RJ I was in shock that I'd finally had a baby. I don't think it sunk in for a few weeks. LOL

My perinatology office normally does them at 18 weeks, but they didn't have any appointments that would work for me until the following week. There is one place by me a few miles away that does a 2D gender peak for $89. They have 3D as well, but my doctor does those for free already around 26 weeks. I always wonder whose bright idea it was to put an ultrasound clinic right next door to a smelly fish market though. LOL

My office is for high risk patients so they try to do all of them at 18-19 weeks because it's easiest at that point to visualize certain vessels in the heart and lungs then. I'm not a tech though, so I couldn't tell you if that's true or not.

Ah ok! I think they mentioned brain? I think? IDK it was back when I was pregnant with Kinley. And well, I've slept a lot since then LOL

there has been mostly girl guesses for mine on ingender but than a few that said they won't guess off a 3D pic! It seems more down than up and I have tryed like crazy trying to find examples of girl 3D nub pics to compare with only a few results.
Here is my nieces 3D nub pic as well she will be one next month

I think they look alike, but I've never really seen the 3D nubs either. Or guessed nubs from that particular view. I know if that were flipped into a potty shot, because it's straight and/or down you'd see the V pointing toward the butt. It's probably a girl but hard to say for sure.

Blah. Posted my picture on FB and someone from BG decided to jinx me and say it's a boy. I think I'll send her buckets of boy dust for the rest of her life. LOL

I emailed my pic to three of my friends. One is a doctor, one's dad is a radiologist, and the other is an NP. Doctor says girl because nub is flat to the body and nubs are supposed to be done rising by 12 weeks and they'd rise from the body, not curl up in the middle. The NP didn't know, but said it looked like her two girl nubs and nothing like her boy nub. The radiologist said his professional opinion is 70%-80% girl and in his experience a boy nub doesn't touch against the body past 12 weeks (like doctor friend said). He also said the skull is very rounded like that of a female, although that is less reliable and harder to determine at this age. I feel better about it but still paranoid. I did go to Build-A-Bear today and buy the daisy Easter bunny for Peanut today, so holding out lots of hope for pink. And I'm going to try to book an elective scan for March 22, although if I opt for the amnio they would do it at my 16-week appointment March 18. I don't really feel the need to do one this time though since my risk came back so ridiculously low this time. I typically have come back at moderate risk and opted for it.
