Doesn't matter how long they stayed, since Herod died 10 years earlier.

Quoting God:“ I've often been told that the Bible contains "no contradictions", and that any that are found are not ... [snip!] ... to be the case? Or, offer some insight as to how one account could be metaphorical and not intended to be taken literally? C.”

Well, there could be several explanations. The Bible could be completely, unquestionably true if say you got your dates that Kind Herod existed in the 7th century from a site that was wrong. The person who said Herod existed at that time can be wrong. I read in science books all the time of them discovering things that put dates back for years sometimes because they find that they were wrong about the time of existence...Like say they were basing his time on a carbon dating...they may be wrong about what they have dated and do more tests and find that, oh itactually existed a century earlier.(was that a clear sentence?) That happens a lot.

Another explanation...Since they didn't write for many years after Jesus' death, maybe theygot something wrong...some date...maybe there was mis-interpretation or even a typo is possible. You never know.

the way i see it is..to err is human..
so of course there is going to be mistakes, and contradictions.

if God personally wrote the bible, the pages would glow or something.. im sure of it.

so i guess what it comes down to is, i cant answer your question..

I could not agree with anything more.

a little off topic but most prophets were born of virgins because the virgins mated with supernatural beings.... or angels that fell prey  to their humanly beauty.
