She wont sleep without the bumper!

My daughter is almost 15 months old and for the second time we tried to take the bumper out of her crib. She normally sleeps through the night without any problems, but as soon as that bumper is gone she wakes and cries til we get her out. She wont nap, she wont go down for bed easy.. Its awful! So her daddy put it back on her crib yesterday and she slept soundly last night! Its not really a huge deal right now, since shes still in the crib and its too low for her to use the bumper to climb out, but Im worried about how she will do once shes in a toddler bed? Has anyone had a child with bumper separation anxiety, or is my daughter a freak?! And if so, what did you do to fix it??

My 12 month old is the same way. I just thought he was a weird kid.

maybe she just needs that blocking her from seeing down/out of her crib? sort of like a racehorse needs blinders to focus. maybe it just allows for less distractions/fear in her room to sleep. makes the crib seem more safe and confined?

Quoting kaaw:“ maybe she just needs that blocking her from seeing down/out of her crib? sort of like a racehorse needs ... [snip!] ... to focus. maybe it just allows for less distractions/fear in her room to sleep. makes the crib seem more safe and confined?”
Makes sense

That is how my little cousin was. When my aunt moved her to a "big girl" bed she had to buy her a body pillow for her to have on her bed.

My daughter will be 1 next week and I know she will be the same way when I try to take them out. I plan to cut them and make different sizedbody pillows out of them. Her's are really simple so they arent too babyish to keep around for a while (pnk and brown dasies)!
