Graco Quattro Tour™ Duo Stroller 6K00FNR3???

posted 29th May
Hi Ladies,

Heres the double stroller I am considering on buying. Has anyone used it or own it, that can give me the pro's and con's?? Thanks for any and all advice.

I have that exact one.

I guess the con's are:

Super heavy (i'm not 6 weeks past my cesarean yet so not sure if I can even lift it -- hubby does it so far)

'20% more compact fold than duoglider' - a bit misleading. It maybe takes up less volume, but it folds up into a ball, not flat like the duoglider

with an infant seat in the back, the front seat still reclines, but a taller child would hit their head on the infant seat.

It's a lot to push around -- I'd never last an afternoon at a zoo or anything like that.

Didn't accept my evenflo carseat- so I bought a graco

Pro's

nice looking
smooth ride
very easy to fold and unfold (but not easy to lift)
rear seat also makes into infant bed if you don't have a carseat to snap on there.
TONS of storage

Any questions post them here, and I'll check back once in a while.

Perfect to know.. I am having a c-section in October, so I’ll keep that in mind about the weight. My daughter is very very petite, and is almost 20 lbs at 18 months. So the height and weight thing should work out.

Have you tried any other double strollers out?
Is the stroller good for someone tall, do you think?

I can not thank you enough for your replies!

My husband is 6 feet -- so not super tall, and he pushes it just fine. The upright handle part is a bit uncomfortable because where the rubber meets the plastic, the edge is a bit sharp. So we will be putting some hockey tape around that.

We compared it side by side at the store with the graco duoglider. We can easily find a duoglider here used for 1/2 price, and yet we still thought it was worthwhile to spend more on this one. The duoglider was impossible to unlock to open it. The canopies and trays kept falling off trying to set it up too. It's lighter, but really flimsy.

I played around with the phil & ted and also the valco with toddler seat.
My sister was at the store recently and witnessed someone trying to return the valco because it tipped over the first time she tried to use it. And the phil & ted seemed like it wouldn't work for the period where the child isn't an infant, but not quite ready to sit upright. And these 2 options are twice the price of this new graco stroller too -- a lot to spend when you will only need the double for a few months, and you may still be unhappy with it (no stroller is perfect!)

I do own the eddie bauer transit tandem. It folds nice and small compared to any graco double. But the rear seat isn't suitable for a newborn, and there's not really any storage on it.

I never really considered any others. A side by side wouldn't work for me and the places I go.

one note on this new graco stroller -- NO WAY will it fit into a trunk. Even if you have a huge trunk, the fold is so thick it won't fit through the opening.
You will need an SUV or minivan. I doubt it would fit in a wagon type vehicle with the hatch-back trunk.

I also chose this one because I thought I'd be more likely to get more money back if I sell it later.

The best thing about the Quattro Tour Duo is the amount of storage for long walks or shopping trips. It actually surprised me how l-o-n-g it was. And Marshmellow was right... definitely not a stroller you are going to flip closed and toss in the trunk. I like the handy compartment near the handlebar to store cellphones, keys, mp3 players, wallets etc. Hey, the driver has needs too!
There are several reviews here:

Overall, its a great ride despite the size and weight.

I used the rear seat recently without the carseat -- in the infant carriage bed mode. Worked quite well, so if you don't have a graco seat to snap in there I wouldn't sweat it.
we were at a store that has a tile floor, and the wheels could not get grip on it. it was very hard to steer. I tried and was completely out of control, but hubby was able to manage.

Good Morning!!

Do you think the stroller would fit into a 2005 Camry? Thats the vehicle I have. I do happen to have the graco snug and ride car seat thats all pink from my daughter but I am expecting a boy in October. While at Babies-R-Us my MIL and I used a car set that was Graco and tried to but it in the stroller Graco Tour Duo and it was rather difficult, to get it snapped in there. I was going to just get a convertible care seat, but I just bought one for my daughter a few months back and she was still facing the rear, and I had the darn thing reclined all the way back, but because the seats are like bucket seats she was still tilting forward. So I dont think getting a convertible seat is a good idea for my son till he's able to control his neck and back muscles. I wish I was handy with a sewing machine I'd make the new seat cover, instead of having to buy a whole new car seat. I looked online, there are car seat covers but most of then cost just about as much for a whole new seat.

I was SO excited cause I FINALLY got to see one of these in person yesterday! Our son just turned 3 last week and we have a 2.5 week old so aside from her Pliko I've been thinking about getting a double for those longer days out...

Anyways, this thing was a boat just like the rest! It looks SO much smaller in the pics on-line...my son sat in the front seat and we couldn't use the canopy cause he's too tall (I know you said your daughter is petite, so it might not ever be an issue for you) the storage basket was nice and big...Marshmallow gave a great review!

Over all...the thing just didn't turn out to be as cool as I thought it was! I still love the way it looks...but I'm definatly going with the Maclaren for our double!

For the PP, no I don't think it would fit in a camry. My dad owns one...they're not that big. I think even if you owned a 1980 buick, it wouldn't fit in the trunk. The inside trunk space may be huge, but the opening isn't wide enough.

Our boy isn't even 18 months yet, so it works fine for us. But like the above person mentioned - a 3 year old in the front would be a tight fit, if even possible. I don't intend on using this thing for more than 6 months. As soon as my new baby can sit upright, I'll be using my transit tandem, if I need a double stroller at all by then.

Well, this leaves me quite a pickle. Huh.. This is going to take a lot of research. I wish there was a business around that allowed us to borrow/loan the stroller(s) and determine which one works for us. Which double stroller is worth the money and durability is top notch? I need a new car seat anyway, I am not looking for compatibility to a seat I have currently.

There's a store here that wouldn't even let my sister try out the bugaboo stroller. She just wanted to take it outside to the parking lot see how it went over the curbs and they said no, she could only take it around the store on the carpet. Pretty sad. How can you expect someone to buy a $1000 stroller without testing it out on anything other than carpet -- especially when the bugaboo's are supposed to be all terrain.

If you need it to fit in a car trunk, I think something with a toddler seat, or else a side by side is your only option. The duoglider and transit tandem fold flat, but really long -- possibly too wide for in a trunk.
Nobody carries it here, but I would have liked to try out the valco rebel. The handle reverses and it holds a toddler seat -- so both kids can face you.
That's one thing I don't like about the huge double -- I can't see what my boy is up to in the front seat.

You know you should start charging for the advice you give out on strollers...lol WOW you know allot!

One or maybe all of the Peg-Perego's have the reversible handle, and aren't the chairs able to be moved so the children can face one-another, facing you or facing forward?

My husband has a F350 dually, what good it do me though when I'm not driving it and needing the double stroller. I just took a peak at the Valco you mentioned, it sure does look like a nice stroller. I didn't realize just how many brands and types of strollers there are..

Do you have any advice on the Combi Counterpart2 Double Stroller??

Have you looked at the new Kolcraft Tandem. It gives you many options for seating. The stroller does fold in half standing up. You can remove the seats (w/ ease) and it will be more compact. The only downfall I can see to this stroller is the weight. You can find the specs here: www.kolcraft.com and you can find reviews here: http://www.amazon.com/Contours-Options-Tandem-Stroller-Red%252f/dp/B000J2DQPA/ref=sr_1_1/104-0289305-8131167?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1182572433&sr=1-1

My SIL purchased the Phil & Teds and loves it. She has the Graco duoglide and the Evenflow. She hates them both. I personally think 500.00 is too much for any stroller but she's totally into it http://philandtedbaby.com/

Keep in mind that what is great for one person isn't so great for another. I can lift my graco w/out any problems.

Good luck & Congratulations on the new baby!
