my husband just doesn't get it! argh!

So I'm approaching week 6 (tomorrow) and on the look-out for any signs of nausea. So far, so good and I'd like to keep it that way. About an hour ago, I heated up some leftover cauliflower from yesterday. Raisin (what I call the baby) did NOT appreciate that. I didn't get sick, but I knew she (also .. just a guess) was shaking her finger at me going "nah, ah, ah, don't try that! You know what I can do!" (lol .. yes, I'm nuts .. I know)

So I drank some milk and asked my hubby to fry me up some veggie sticks (they're like fish sticks, but with veggies instead). I'm a vegetarian and he was making fish sticks, so I asked him to put some veggie ones on for me, as I "could tell" that that would make me feel better. Now, my husband is the type of person that always likes to have something WITH his food. In this case, he HAD to make rice with the "sticks". I could care less what I eat WITH something, especially if I want one thing and don't care for the other.

Ok .. to make a long story short(er), the rice took forever and didn't turn out that well. I finished my veggie sticks, but he is INSISTING that I finish my portion of the rice (which I didn't want in the first place) because he doesn't want to "waste" anything and he won't eat it himself because he finished his portion.

I'm like "Hello! Pregnant lady here! You do not ask a pregnant lady to eat something that makes her feel sick!" Ugh! Thanks for listening. Why don't men "get it" sometimes?

He won't really understand much of the pregnancy till you are showing, and even then sometimes they don't really get it.

Just explain to him that you're not a big fan of vomiting and if your body tell you you dont have a craving for it, then its best not to eat it. Also, when you start feeling nauseated, SEA BANDS are the shit ! You can get them at Walgreens.

yeah, I told him that, but he didn't wanna hear it. I think he's given up. He's watching something on-line now. I'm not eating the rice.

Oh, I'm not nauseous. I just listen to my body and Raisin whenever I eat and I can tell when she doesn't like something. That's all.

I think our guys are just worried about our health and the baby's. It's hard for them to watch us go through the first trimester without eating much because they know we need all sorts of nutrition. Once you can start downing food like a real pregnant lady he'll back off a bit. Also, be sure to remind him of when he was trying to cram food down your throat when you want him to go out and get you food at odd times of the day and night : )

I guess I should add a disclaimer that overall the hubby is very excited about the pregnancy (already says he "wants more kids" .. haha .. I said "you don't even HAVE one yet! lol), is great with dealing with my moods swings and showers me with compliments.

I just needed to vent. Thanks for listening ladies. :-)
