Lube while pregnant

This has probably been asked, but I can't find anything on it.
Is it safe to use lube while pregnant? I've heard lots of mixed things over the years.

lube is fine as your cervix is closed and wont get to the baby.

I did. My body does not like to "self lube". If I don't use it, it is uber painful. Damn vagina!

I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow, but I don't know anything about what's going on down there. They won't check me til I'm 38 weeks.

if you are dilated at all I would only use a water based lube like Ky Jelly as vaseline is a petroleum base. just to be safe.

Same here! That's why I'm asking.
I was okay pre pregnancy, but now, it's like a dessert down there. We kept trying different things, but nothing worked so we stopped altogether because it just hurt SO bad.
But now we wanna try again before the baby gets here, so we just decided we'd try lube this time if it's okay.

Nope, dilating doesn't matter. Up until your water breaks, you can use lube, have sex, whatever. Only after your water breaking does it open up for you to get a possible infection.

Any idea how much a bottle of KY costs? We don't have any lube, but we wanna have sex again a few more times before baby comes.

that isnt true because my OB said no tub baths after I had dilated.

TMI but I use astroglide. It works/feels the most natural. I have found most others have an almost "grainy? feel to them, but astroglide is awesome.

regular KY is about 5-6 bucks at walmart- but I think they have a generic too.

No one I have ever heard of has ever said that. My doc, my friends docs, my relatives docs, etc all said no prob.

Hmm, really? I've never heard of that. I've never even used lube before, so I'm really new to all this. I don't even know where to begin!
