My friend just did that. It makes me sad when women don't think they are strong enough.

Apparently I am measuring about two weeks ahead with the babys growth. I will find out more on monday but my mom mentioned that they may want to induce.I told her they can take their pitocin and shove it. I don't see any reason why I can't deliver a larger baby.
It kind of bothers me anyway when doctors mention a babys size or being "behind" or "ahead".Don't they just grow at their own pace anyway? Lol it's not like they have a growth chart or calender they're looking at in mommys uterus.

I just had a long talk about this. DOnt do it. Your body wont produce a baby thats too big enless its b/c of medical reasons. Like diabetes or something else. Your baby will come when he wants. Doctors are always off with size. My ex's sister hada c-section b/c they said her baby was gonna be too big. He was 7 pounds! 7! Your body can push out an 11 pound baby!. I hate doctors

Soooo! i HATE going to the Drs for my "checkups" what the hell?! They check nothing that I couldn't do on my own!!!! But anyways I decided to use a Dr after no luck of finding a midwife, and I am soo happy that I got the one that I did.
I finally got to talk to him today about birthing in the natural birthing center of our hospital and he is all about it!
I feel so much better now! WOOHOO!

I think every single one of them look at birth from a completely medical persepective BLAHH! lol
but he is being very supportive and has done different types of natural births apparently. I definitely got lucky!!

Thanks for the PM btw, just read it (my Drs are nuts, i saw them today and won't be going back).

You're right. My bump (fundal height) didn't grow and was behind from 24 till 29 weeks, having had an IUGR (severely growth restricted) baby in the past they really had me worrying that it was happening again. My BP has been high and i have a trace of protein too, so again they had me (almost) convinced i was getting pre-e and iugr again, and that there was no way i would be able to have a homebirth... or even a vaginal birth!

Baby was transverse till 29 weeks.. and because he turned my bump is now measuring totally normal   I went for a scan too and turns out his growth is just over 50th percentile, so i know he's fine. They told me it's because of my spine he wouldn't be able to go head down, and again they were wrong because he is almost head down (albeit abit squinty though lol, but plenty of time yet).
So basically they've been trying to fool me out of a homebirth. They have point blank refused me one, but now i know that baby is still growing and healthy i'm going ahead and booking one out of pocket. I'm pretty anxious after my previous experiences, but i'm going to make the effort to prepare well and hopefully by the time September is here i'll be relaxed and ready for my water birth

They told me mama's with our back and post surgeryissues often need instrumental deliveries if they don't have a c-sec, so i'm excited to hear about your smooth waterbirth story when it happens

I so wish I could be there!   I love births. I can't wait to get back to assisting, and I'm going to get my Doula certification as well. So fun!

It'd be such an awesome job, although i'd bet it's pretty exhausting too!

Yes, it is exhausting, and very unpredictable, which makes it hard to do with little kids.
Cause you never know when you'll need to go, or how long you will be gone, and you can have several false alarms with one woman... where you are gone a few hours and then have to go again in another few days, after you already used the babysitter you had lined up. lol

So it's not something I can pursue as a career at this point. But one day I will!   I love it.

Okay so were do I start. I'm having my first baby in october. It's a little boy and I've decided to name him Louis Edward. The daddy isn't in the picture and I'm totally okay with that. I have plenty of supportfrom my family with everything except when it comes to me having a natural child birth. I hate the idea of being given any medication that numbs me and can be harmful to my baby, thats why I want a natural child birth. But my family seems to think that i can't do it.That I wont make it through the process of giving birth with out an epidural. Gosh it's really annoying. What do i do. I know i can do it, all i have to do is think about my baby's health and thats more than enough motivation to do it. Women have been giving birth since before doctors were thought of so what's the big deal about having a natural child birth.
