YAY I was so worried that they wouldn't take me because I am so far along. But if they took you at 30 weeks and I'm only 27. Maybe there is a chance that they will.

Lol. I'd love to agree with this idealised version of UK maternity care that's always portrayed, but in my experiences and of those i've come across it's simply not true   That's why we always have stories on the news about mothers being left alone to deliver because of shortages, birthing in toilets (i've been one of them) etc etc. I've had many terrible and downright ridiculous things said to me by OBs, midwives, social workers, GPs and health visitors here from birthing to breastfeeding advice.

At the end of the day, no matter where you are you have to take the initiative to educate yourself about birth and beyond or you're unlikely to get the results you 'should'. + at least they have nice suites in the US instead of our poxy filthy 8 to room wards over here lol

I didn't see my homebirth midwife until about 3weeks before i gave birth, you should have plenty of time

Awesome. The only hitch I could for see was how far along I am. So hopeufully I will be able to switch like you did. If you switched so close to your due date I don't see there being a problem.

Are birthing classes absolutely neccesary?

Matt and I have been reading a bunch of books on different natural birthing techniques and have really taken to the bradley method. The book says we should take classes but the only person I have found who gives these classes gives them on Tuesday's only and I have one of my college classes that day.

I'm so excited. I asked her if it was too late to transfer and she said no, she's had women who moved to her at 36 weeks.

No, I don't think so. I actually thought they were kind of a waste, but some people might benefit from them.

I just wanted to pop in here and introduce myself. My name is Veronica. I just had my daughter at 34 weeks all natural. I honestly didnt think I was going to be able to handle it but I did. I focused mainly on relaxing my whole body and breathing through each contraction and it only took 3 pushes to have my daughter! I was in shock for a little bit after giving birth... lol I couldnt believe I did it, I couldnt believe I wasnt screaming my head off... my SO and the Drs and Nurses all were proud of me and kept telling me how great of a job I did and how they couldnt believe how fast and how wonderfly I did   lol My labor story is in my announcements if anyone wants to read it...
